Repeated DCs

I did a search and I browsed the tech support section and I didn't find anything pertaining to this, so here it is:

I am sick and tired of the random disconnects in archo and when teleporting. I can't walk from one end of north/south/west arch to the other without at least 1 random dc that completely shuts my client down in a split second, shoving that bug report thing in my face.

For whatever reason one of my cat shop chars that lives in west arch NEVER, EVER gets disconnected. Yet every other character that I try to PLAY on or cat shop on gets disconnected in archo. The DCs are less frequent when in cat shop mode, but they still happen. And when walking around to actually get somewhere there are often times when I log back in and take 5 steps and am disconnected again. I literally cannot walk from one end of arch to another without being disconnected at least once, even with "best performance" on and manually putting all other settings to the lowest possible. Low settings vs high settings seem to make absolutely no difference.

I only just recently returned to the game, so I'm not sure how long it's been like this. Regardless, I find it unacceptable. I know that enough people have complained about DCs during NW for the powers that be to notice and at least say that they're fixing it -- what about the other DCs that happen the rest of the time?

Are others experiencing this? Or is it just me and the people I've spoken to in-game? Is there anything I can do to make this nonsense stop?

I know it is not my internet connection or my computer. The rare occasions that my internet poops out I get a "disconnected from the server" pop-up in game, not the immediate forced shut down of the entire client.

Well I call it a dc as in disconnect, but I suppose it's technically more of a client crash.

The game just disappears and that grey report error box pops up. Occasionally I'll also get a small win98-esque error box with a bunch of asian letters and an "OK" clickable thing.

And define computer stats or ask specifics. I'm going to need to ask someone else for that info. It's a dell and it has an i7 quad core. It's less than a year old. I dont have problems running other games and multiple clients of various games, including PWI. I only get this problem when teleporting to or from arch (about 50% of the time) and when walking around or cat shopping in arch.

Mine started the doing the same thing about 2 (or so) weeks ago ~ right after the maintenance (When they started the snow storms in the cities)

And I've been suffering pretty much the same thing as you, even though I've also been getting multiple lagg spikes aswell (anything from 9k to 28K!!!b:shocked) that also show up quite regularly, like last night in a TT3-3 run (that 1 sucked it big time)b:sad

But as for the reasons for it or how to fix it.... I still have got no clue on either, because I've tried just about everything under the sun for fun to fix it on my end & even ran numerous Ping tests over the internet to see if it was my end that was the problem and I got absolutely Nada outta it on my end, so my guess is its something to do with the latest patch adjustments & PWis Server Towers hardwares.....b:surrenderb:surrender

Happens to me pretty often. It occurs mainly after ive left my computer on for too long without a restart. Seems to be a memory issue. Just try restarting your computer more often.

Also, you said you recently came back to game, could also try redownloading it or verifying files as they may have gotten corrupted and you could be crashing when you encounter a bad file

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave rebooting a shot but I still crashed when walking around arch. I suppose tomorrow I can try re-downloading. Am I gonna need to uninstall completely? Can I get away with just doing a verify?

main places i get those crashes is when i tele to tellus usually for first time if i ever go there lol(poor game creators waste time making new parts of the map and no one goes to),raging tides,nirvana palace,and the epic massive error for NW,but rarely get a error in 1k streams for NW.

yeah the snow sucks it should be smaller flakes,and i love how the people cried and cried for snowmen and the snowmen came and hardly anyone kills them..wow.

This is happening all the time for me, I send a ticket and they are putting me to run Hijack this since they think is my fault...

I leave pings running to all kind of pages (bentley, Microsoft, Autodesk, Google) and neither of them drop a single packet not even one, yet at the same time PWI servers d/c me, this can not be on my end and I seriously doubt is my ISP this is something they messed up in the last few weeks.
