So, aps era is going away, no need to solo/aps intances, just need to go a few times to NW. I've seen alot of BMs going for full 3rd cast/or other not aps gear sets. So, aps is not worth on BM anymore (except solo'ing FF) for PvP/supporting squad for other intances? Oldschool BM's gameplay is back?

You *could* survive with pure axe, minimal Dex, etc. You're just gonna miss a lot in PvP (Nation Wars...the money you're talking about). Consider that there are lots of high dex toons out there (APS Barbs, BMs, Archers, Sins). It's pretty important.
Gluck in Warsong, Lunar, selling plvls and WGTM for money, etc PvE stuff. Charging gold doesn't get you Badges (yet...). There is still a reason to utilize a good aps setup at endgame.pwcalc.com/bb6fc16982637a5c / pwcalc.com/28948ee5778526f50 -
To be honest once I get r9r2 I'm going to get a set of aps gear. I don't need aps, haven't needed aps in years. I get lunar, full warsong, abaddon, seat of torment, and delta squads just fine being non aps. That being said, I do want a set of r8/t3 mix for an aps set. I do miss being aps at times, but thats mostly for the luz. Getting r9r2 allows you to stat dex easy with still having an insane amount of strength. So really, why not have 2 sets of gear at that point. There is almost no reason not to, and this is comming from a "as pure axe as you can get while still being able to use all paths" bm. Now grant it, being sage means I need stupid insane hard to get rolls to become 5 aps again. But NW gives enough rewards that I'm going to try it anyway.0

I'm still not convinced axes really out dd aps. You'll have time where they zerk a few times in a row (or one zerk is enough) and they'll out dd aps, and you'll have times where they do far below aps damage. You'll also have times where you don't want to aps because your facing a barb who has Bestial Raged or Blood Rushed, or a brambled opponent. Then there are times where you are going to do far more damage apsing an opponent.
Can call this "aps tarding" or whatever, but it takes more intelligence and practice learning when to aps and when to skill spam than it does to roll 5 axe skills repeatedly.
My main thing is chi conservation and versatility. If I'm going to take down a barb I'm gonna need to keep him from kiting by stun locking him, and I'm gonna need to HF. That takes a lot of chi and fists help keep that up. I also like to do the HF when they're at about 60% hp so I can charm tick and then race the next charm tick. Fists help me get their hp where I want it.
And then the whole accuracy and crit rate thing...
I'd also argue that aps is not dead. Sure, NW is something like 75 times more effective than running Nirvanas now, but its 4 hours a week. As saku said, what do you rest of the week?
Let's assume you get 200 tokens each NW, that is 400 tokens. You can make seal of wars, and sell them at 15m each. That is 8x15m = 120m for 4 hours of playing. Pretty awesome.
For the rest of the week, other instances will be hard without switching between aps and pvp set. In lunar, warsong, i have "pvp" set for mobs. For bosses, i switch to aps set. To me, having both sets makes sense.
Only relying on one, doesn't allow me to enjoy the game. NW is great pvp fun, pvp gear is awesome for pulling in lunar, warsong, tanking delta. Aps can still get the work faster in tt, and at bosses compared to axes. Especially in trials, there are some trials where aoe is a taboo, one just has to be flexible to use both sets.
There is also a great benefit to aps set in NW. Find a good tanky barb, and hit each other for 2~5 minutes with no outside interruptions. Both of you will get a high score in that battle.0 -

I have APS gear at the moment (3.33 basic), I made 2nd cast NV dual axes with GoF few days ago. I tryed to pvp a bit and I really liked to kill easy AA/LA classes. I don't want 2 sets of gear, I want to choice one set and still don't know, stay at basic 4 aps gear or farm full 2nd/3rd cast gear set.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Again guys, you can't buy badges that you need to upgrade bound gear. WGTM is still, good money solo. Plvls aren't bad either.
In theory you could NW your way into a swanky set of N3 gear and buy all the refines. But thats...4 hours a week. I kinda wanna play more than that.
On the more DD - I've tried with my current two setups (btw, I finally updated my pwcalcs). If the fight goes past a spark round, currently my APS setup outdoes my axe spam 3 sparked by a GIANT amount. 1 Spark round it's still a bit better, but not huge (Im judging by aggro and how fast the boss is dying cause I pretty much live in lunar right now - same squads) but that second spark round it's like forget it, fists goes way past. Not to mention the chi gain from fists.
BUT, I wont like, have R9rr in full till like January sometime, so we'll see if I can make it out DD my fists. The Merching is not as good as last yearBut I'm close to S2'ing my armor.
I still wouldn't ditch my 200 dex though, crit and accuracy is a huge deal to me right now unless we can find some mathematical ideal that is lower.pwcalc.com/bb6fc16982637a5c / pwcalc.com/28948ee5778526f50 -

The purify pot+dragon bane is an option, but 5 minute cool down not very conducive to use. It does help when stars align, you have 2~5 bunched up. Use the skill, purify pot, and dd away, the zerk, crits will roll in b:cute. Sadly we can't see the crits when they land. There is no genie skill to make this work with. Not sure if it stacks with crit base buff, or over writes it.
In your axes case, that is 57% crit chance for 25~30 seconds. Not sure how it deals with GOF strikes, since the crit strikes are not displayed. Would it show 10k normal hit, 20k gof strike or crit strike (as a normal number) 40k (gof+crit) as a normal number? Something to look into possibly. Only down side is that apoc items will be in cool down for a b:chuckle.0 -
