Gear Goals

So I have been working on getting Emperor and I think I'll be able to get it by the end of December or early January. But the question that I'm struggling with now is what to do next. I have two options in mind, and each one goes in a very different direction than the other. So here it is:

1. Get G16 claws/fists with double interval, R8 recast chestpiece with interval, and R9 3rd cast belt, boots, and pants. The purpose of this build is for me to achieve 600 STR with fists while keeping 5 APS sparked. After getting Emperor, 650-700 STR could be a possibility. And as you can all see, this would be extremely OP in terms of PvE, and could be mildly useful in PvP.

2. Get Dervish axes (R9 3rd cast axes). Of course this would be very useful in PvP, although in terms of PvE, it'll be useful in GV, PV, and just plain aoe'ing.

I would like the opinion of the BMs in this community and please do explain your reasoning b:thanks

EDIT: I plan to get both options in the far far future of course, so the question is basically which to get FIRST.

So is this for both pve and pvp? What is your current gear set up? What are your goals for this gear? Please provide more information so that we can help better answer your question.

Go for the axes. Rerolling G16 for double int is going to drive you nuts and take a tremendous amount of badges. Unless you find someone selling them in WC and go that route instead.

    Sorry, here's my current gear set-up: http://pwcalc.com/aadf6e2684b255e1
I changed the stats on the Love Up and Down because I currently have Dominance, and I took into account the +10 Dex engraving on my necklace.

I've been using this with Nirvy G16 axes for both PvP and PvE. And you're right CapnK, I'm planning on buying them instead of trying to roll them myself, which is why I can't get both options right off the bat due to the insane amount of coin required. So again, I DO plan to get both in the long run, but as my first short-term goal, which is more important?

In that case I'd go with option 1. You also might consider swapping the chest and boots. A little harder to get interval on r8 boots, but you get 5% hp boost from the r9 recast chest.

Hmm, that's true. Considering that we have NW now, getting interval on boots might be plausible (since I know my friend got it on his boots already).

I'm in the same situation as you. Trying for int on my G16 fists, combining R8r and G16 pieces of armor to have r9 defenses while only needing my weapon swapped to be 5 aps, and trying to farm Dervish axes.

What I decided was G16 claws would help me farm alot of money quicker, but the huge money maker right now has been NW, so Dervish doubles as useful for TWing and would help make money in NW.

So imo Dervish gets the the priority since its "absolute." Meaning I don't know if its gonna take 2 rerolls or 2000 to get double -int on G16s.

And as far as r8r boots vs armor for -int. The chest has 4.74% (1:21) chance of getting -int, the odds of getting it on the boots are .48% (1:208). Odds of getting 2 x -int on the plate is .00074% (1:1357). Basically, boots and double int on plate odds suck and never count on them.

I went with r8r chest, G16 wrist and boots, and r9t3 belt and axe. I won't get the r9t3 5% hp chest piece, but the G16 boots offer alot of mdef and an r8r 900 hp set bonus that pretty much makes up for it and is more realistic imo.

You have a good point there Sakubatou. Funny thing is with all these opinions and good input, it's getting even harder to decide b:laugh

Also, I was thinking about it last night, and I realized I don't even need R8 recast if I just buy double interval fists/claws, and go with this build instead: http://pwcalc.com/28e49cfbbeb1be03

G16 claws/fists with double interval, R8 recast chestpiece with interval

By the time you accomplish this, you could have gotten your axes twice.

Looking at your second build - thats an awesome idea.

Double int on Claws/Fists would most likely go for 1b+. Thats 4 summerwinds at last weeks prices. At the same time...I've seen a double int weapon for sale once since N3 came out, and Im not sure the guy sold it.

But I looked at your build, and my build, and the damage difference is 3k, although you're more tankier. I'm just not sure in my mind I could justify the price of 2x int claws or fists for PvE, PvE is already too easy as it is. But if that's your thing, I looked over that build and I think thats the best full DD Fists I've seen without a godly R8r roll. N2 helm is about the same DD.

If you're still using nirvana axes, DEFINITELY get R9/R9rr axes so you can spike better. It is a large, noticeable difference in NW/TW - I had two friends upgrade from **** to R9 recently, its a game changer. Also, your accuracy makes me cry, I'm guessing you have a 50% ring you switch in for PvP?

(And psst...the crit arrow thing doesnt work)

But, backing ALL the way up - if you do NW, and TW - I think you'd get more enjoyment out of full/good shards in your PvP setup man - money better spent. One set of jades isn't a huge deal, but a full set of jades is amazing. I just always think what is good enough or splurgable for PvE (and I feel Im past that point with my gear, I just really hate LA stuff), and focus on TW/NW gear as that is where gear truly makes a giant difference. To which, R9rr with excellent refines and awesome shards (Vit or JoSD really) is a better money spent thing.

And for the record, R9rr axes are fomg. Especially if you got a good Str/Max Damage roll, BT just gets better and better. I really recommend them, it changes things like how first going R9 changes things.

Yeah, I'm definitely thinking about going for full R9rr with JoSDs, since I've seen and fought against people with full JoSDs, and their defense is just b:dirty

Definitely would love to get Dervish, the damage on it along with GoF will definitely be a noticeable difference from the axes I currently use.
