Killing venos

My wizard is level 85 and I was dueling a veno level 90 with a nix. The venos gear wasnt much better than mine so I would think its fair.

The problem is that when the duel starts, my first tactic is to us FoW to seal the veno, but her nix can seal me too. If i seal the nix instead then the veno will stun me.

Not only that but before the duel the veno uses bramble hood making my attacks hit 75% lower.

So any ideas? I tried sealing nix and sleeping veno but bramble hood just doesnt let me be effective b:sad

By the time the nix or veno is free i get stunned and killed so please give me some feedback. b:thanks

You're at a disadvantage from chi alone without bringing into account any level 11 skills the veno may have not to mention that unless you're both wearing disproportionately good gear for that level, the veno's nix alone can solo you.

That said, kite the first 15 seconds, to wear out hood, then immediately sleep the stupid bird before sealing + unloading on the veno (blade tempest if you can deal high damage, MS if you want the additional stun).

If you have no qualms with genies in duels, get nullify poison and cauterize/blood clot. Then you'll be immune to flesh ream from the QQbird and will be immune to the veno's magical attacks for a while. Which should get you a chance to kill the veno. Just make sure to try and kill the veno before they can use soul transfusion or metabolic boost.

I tried to jump away from the bird but it follows so damn fast. I try to run out long enough for bramble hood to go away but she just holy paths to me and stuns me. If im lucky i can get out a FoW to seal her but by then the nix is on me already b:surrender

and about the tempest/MS, takes a while for me to channel that b:cry

The matchup you are describing puts you at a significant disadvantage. The nix is OP for the lower levels, but as you continue to level they'll be less and less of a threat (mainly due to better gear as you level up). And venos are amazing in duels, bramble hood coupled with the control skills they have and whatnot is just a pain. I wouldn't worry about it much right now, try again when you are 100+ and outside sz (e.g. where your charm will work).. if you still are having trouble then ask again on the forums. It's perfectly normal to get destroyed by venos while you're 8x.. especially in duels.

Take it from someone who's been tops in PvP on both characters.

You'll most likely lose just because the person is using a nix.

The best thing you can do is domain as soon as the duel starts, use essential sutra and kill the nix with your fast CAST skills. 3-4 hits will kill the nix (depending on your weapon) then go about killing the veno as you wish.

Seeing as how a bleed will be the only thing needed to kill you, likely, that's really the only route you can go without using apoth.

I avoid using genie in duel ( aside from cloud eruption or holy path) so people wont QQ and talk trash and stuff b:chuckle

Unless you have a strong weapon and crit that will not kill the nix. It will still take many shots after that to kill it. Unless the veno has downs that won't work.

only idiots qill complain, cause they are to stupid to use them and have class advantage


run away. out of heal range for the veno and kill the pet (push it away befrore it gets to close)

veno has lower range than wizard too


if you lose make sure the pet dies in any case
cause the veno gotta feed it again after it died

w8 till u get 100 to get atleast r8 then g16 if u cant afford r9 , nix are a joke when u are 100 they die with 1 atack(aka gush or pyro or phoenix) if u got a +10 wep in hand , and veno if isnt skilled to stun, purge, seal you they cant do a sh.it , is like 1 hit with Blade Tempest or 2-3 hits undined

It is the flesh ream itself, not the nix. People complain about nix "bleed" too much. This also works on kowlins and other pets with bleed on people with HP for mid/low levels. A 80+ char should have much better HP and bleed should not bleed.

Blade tempest is pretty much stupid to use on venoes (most are) unless they are using arcane or something. Blade tempest didn't hit me as hard as mountain seige or black ice dragon strike. It would be a lot smarter to use MS whether the veno wearing arcane or not (simply because of the stun). Kiting is effective though.

Nullify poison is pretty much a waste of time to use unless the opponent is completely fail (Really sad I see most of them suck really badly anyway, which is why they carry nix in the first place), cauterize/blood clot is only useful for levels under 80 because the HP would be low. I fooled some wizards, making them think I would use those useless wood spells on them and I end up facerolling the wizards because they use the tactics you suggest (though MS is a smart move, wizards just have to make sure they cast on time before the veno eats them alive).
