unable to proceed to update

After todays upadate it wont let me update the game. it gives me this message *unable to proceed to update* so I tried downloading the manual patch it wont let me install that either when i click on manual and selct the patch nothing happens. So then I tried to click verify files also nothing happens. So how can i fix this problem without having to uninstall and reinstall everything which would take all day? I have had the game for 3 years and never had this problem and the game worked fine yesterday only after last nites update has this problem started. So hoping someone has some solutions or a fix? thank you

    problem solved. it seems that some how the log in screen was open and hidden once i found that and closed it the game updated as normal if anyone has the same problem I was suggest just restarting your computer and try again. It was unusual as the game did not update and when i tried to log in thats when it said I needed to update and crashed my log in screen which stopped it from allowing me to update. in anycase problem solved, thanks.
