Character Heads--anyone Else Have This Problem?

The heads on other peoples toons looks generic, but in their profile pic they look customized.
Can someone explain to me how I can fix this???

    It's an option you can turn on, to not or to load customizations. You might've un-checked it. It's under the window that opens when you want to edit your graphics, distance, and how many shiny sparkly effects show. I'll get a screenshot in a moment.
