is it worth to even go for rank8 weapon now? r8r vs g16 nirvana?

    If you're looking to be pure support, then yes. The defense levels/purify will help a lot when it comes to survivability.

    I have the G16 Glaive, but I plan to make a R8r for the purify and use both weapons.

    The purifyspell is awesome if you have enough defences to survive a sin jumping you, otherwise you could make one with defence levels and switch weapons for survive/DD situations.

    That is my plan anyway (the defence lvls thing)

    Trick question -

    Nirvy has been said for a long time to be the best for a Mystic, some even claim Nirvy to be better than R9 for Mystics.

    Money-wise, it is definately worth relooking at R8R now that Nation Wars makes grinding your own mats possible. But, it has always been said that R8R is not as good as R9 for a Mystic - which brings us back to those that claim Nirvy is the best for a Mystic.

    If you believe the hype and only want the best - Nirvy wins!

    Now, you need to take into account what type of Mystic you are, your playstyle, the things that are important to you personally in your build. PDef v HP, Vit v Mag, and stuff like that - then compare the gears and the way you want to stack them to best serve your personal needs.

    You might find you prefer R9R3 in the end, and putting any coin into anything else would just be a waste of your time and resources toward achieving that final goal.

    The great thing about a Mystic is its versatility. There isnt really one way to build or play them. Therefore, there isnt one way to gear them.

    Before NW was added I was trying to make my R8r top or pants and saw someone was selling Plat ores for 500k instead of 5m and bought 9 knowing that they were untradable if I opened the packs.

    Now that I actually have N2 hat and boots (lost a socket on each b:cry) from doing NW, I obviously want to get N3 set and not have to reroll my gear like I would with R8r.

    This means I have 9 untradable platinum ores that I have no intention of using, and can't bring myself to npc.

    Anyone know if crafting the stage 3 nirvana gear rerolls the sockets? Cause it will probably be a decade before I get enough sockets stones to add them back, and I'd just as soon remake the gear if I need to.

    No one was selling Chik stones at the time I made my gear, and I thought 80% chance at 3 sockets was good enough. b:surrender

    Pretty sure your sockets get rerolled going from N2>N3.

    Cool. I just made my Lunar pants since mats were so cheap, by selling 400 useless cannys. Now I need to get 250+ of them back. NW has made things very crazy.

    I feel sorry for that poor guard stationed outside of nirvana, because no one has bothered him in about a month now b:chuckle
