    I'll say that again :

    A company making many millions dollars in profit using voluntary mods on their forum, just show how cheap you are.

    Why don't you hire your forum moderators instead? Savage capitalism to it's most extreme version.

    Would you do voluntary work for McDonald's or Walmart?

    People can do whatever they want to. People can work for free, and people can hire people who work for free. You're not apart of it, so why do you care that pwi has volunteer mods?

    This. Volunteer jobs like this are a great opportunity to gain experience in whatever job is needed to be done. Same goes for unpaid co-ops/internships, and even paid ones.

    What Kris said is true.
    PWE is not the only company that does this anyway.

    Also, voluntary work can be fun and give you opportunities to experience new things. Experience will open more opportunities in the future. People who volunteer do it because they want to or they love to. Not everything has to be done with the incentive of getting paid.

    Sometimes volunteers may do a better job than a paid person. A volunteer, usually, is part of the community and is closer to it so they can help the community voice be heard. A person doing it for the money may not be bothered or care as much.
