Disconnected From Server

Logged into game perfectly..within about 20-30 mins i got disconnected message. I can see the west coast servers and also can log onto other servers except for east coast. I know the storm maybe the cause of this issue. There is couple other people i know right now that are having the same issue.

    Same here i just brb to kitchen and when i got back saw the dc massige was wth my internet is super good o.o

    I just got dc on HL, but was able to log back in without problem.

    I've been unable to log in for a few hours now.. and some people wouldn't believe me. >.<

    Umm.. I live in Toronto.. so no. Sandy is actually right at me right now. >.> Basically, I'm not that isolated and oblivious.

    I'm just curious as to why people are still able to log on while some can't.. if the server is supposedly down.

    There is a huge storm on east coast named Sandy affecting almost the entire east coast of the USA. Knocked down more than PWI servers unfortunately. I live in mid-west but server for my job is also on east coast-same problem. Should blow over and hope those in it's path are okay

    I think I read about that huricane on my mobile didin't think it would affect that much

    east coast server are down,thanks to hurricane.
    all west coast/euro servers are up tho.

    i suggest recheck periodically if servers are up,if u wanna still play,go to the other servers and enjoy untill it goes up.

    The server itself may not be down, but regional hubs to access the server may be without power. This would leave areas unable to connect, while others have no issues whatsoever connecting to the server.

    Yep, you've pretty much got to figure that for the next week or so, your connection to the east coast servers will likely have high latency, and will likely get disconnected due to packet loss.

    This isn't because of any issue with the Servers, or the facility itself, but because of damage and repairs being made to the wide network of power, telephone, and cable lines that have gone down. Traffic gets re-routed automatically, but that can cause some hubs to get overloaded. Load balancing will continue to happen, but with such large amounts of traffic and with so many hubs being affected, connection issues are to be expected, no matter where you are connecting to the servers from.

    This could also have an impact on individuals connecting to West coast servers from Europe and other areas on the other side of the ocean.

    Guess reading would help.

    This is how it works...
    Your connection comes from Europe, then Across the Ocean on a Trunk Line to the East Coast, then continues across land to the West Coast.
