Do you know how to keep the old icon for invites, trades, and all that other stuff over the new icon if somebody wanted to switch to switch from the old UI to new UI, without losing it :o?

I have a feeling I could figure it out if I looked around, but when I try that stuff on my own I end up having to reinstall the game <.<

I'll leave this up till you get an answer, but next time just PM a person if you have a direct question, or have the thread title so that everyone can answer you.

The way to change the UI is change the systemsettings.dat file and chaning Theme to 0. The file is in the userdata folder in the install dir

@Krisnda, @_Skai_ I think he is referring to the bubbles being the icons not the player ^.^

I see, but it's easy to misunderstand the thread title, as Bubbles is quite known around here.

    Uhm...No .-.

I meant Bubbles, as in the player. Not the icons.

I would of PM'd her but I am a bit lazy and I figured if I made a thread I would either get an answer from her or somebody else who would know how to do it .-.

iexze, I already have the old UI and have been using it well before people actually started asking questions about how to get to use it (which came about very recently, about a day after the facial ini editing <_<). Heck i've probably told 100+ people how to do it by now, both ingame and out.

My question though is more of a editing a single factor of the whole UI, the bubbles that appear upon requests to your character (trade, invites, notifcations of selling, etc). I prefer the old bubbles of this Icon and wish to keep it if I were to transition back to the new, current, UI screen. As it is a lot easier to see, click, and read compared to the current UI, which if you just move the wrong direction on your camera angel you can't even read.

This is why I asked for Bubbles, the player, to answer the question of how to keep this bubble icon instead of the new one, or to anybody who could answer this question. Which if the point of this thread, to ask the question of how to keep the UI Bubble of old, instead of the UI Bubble of new.

*still waiting on Kris to change the title <_<*

    I somehow missed this thread..

You mean you want some of the old UI while using the new ui?

    Yeah.
It should be possible, though you'll have to be 100% specific about which exact icons.
I think you're talking about the ? box that appears, which is indeed annoying in the genesis ui.

I wouldn't mind doing such a request, but it would involve breaking pwe's ToS since they are all plz don't touch da filez.

So it does involve actually messing with the gaming files themselves to keep the old UI's ? pop-up box.../sigh, figures the one feature I like the most means a **** load of hassal to keep... :/

But then again, the last time I gave a living damn about the ToS...rofl, what am I saying, I never did. PM me or just let me know whatever method of contact is best to actually work with this :)

The problem is, if I do it once, it may get rewritten over in the next patch, depending on which file controls that setting.

Depending on which file it is, it may requires a string of edits would might involve numerous fixes after each patch.

I don't want to set up something I know I'll forget about later or might be unnecessarily time consuming. I'd rather do an edit that would be available to everyone.
If pwe allowed me to do these things officially, I could start a thread and keep track of everything.

Ah, yeah I see your point on that :s

With PWE, it can be anything and everything that gets messed with during an update which would possibly lead to multiple fixes. Well it's np, I'll just stay with the old UI, until PWE gets off their ***** and allows you to hand out those types of updates to allow players have fun with different UI features :)

Yes, it will end up getting written over in a new patch, just as changing the UI is over-written every couple of patches and I have to change it back. I've personally made a couple of custom start screens and character selection screens, but they get over-written and after a while I stop messing with it.

Best change ever is changing the music files. I currently have the soundtrack from Sacred loaded up in the game. b:chuckle
