Would like some help with faction icon, please. :)

Not sure if I'm allowed to post actual pictures in this forum, so I will post links instead, after a quick explanation of my problem.
I'm going to try to be as detailed as possible so that it would be easier to understand and help me.

I downloaded a picture in .png format with some transparency already applied. I then put the picture into a paint program to do some small edits on the simple design. This got rid of the transparency when I saved it (I don't exactly know why), but it was no problem.
I then used this editing site to apply the transparency and resize the picture to the correct 16x16 required for a faction icon.
After this, the only problem I had was the format of the image so I used this site to convert the image from .png to .bmp.

It all seemed to work and I submitted the image fine. My faction waited a little while for the image to be implemented and it was added last night but I logged on today to see that it was a bit off.
The image was messy and and had colours in places where that colour was not supposed to be. The image was also slightly distorted, and the transparency came out as black instead of actually being transparent.

I've been online for about an hour trying to fix the problem on the original image but I have no clue how. I assume the problem may be because the quality of the resized image is low and I don't know how to resize it properly.

The icon on the tab of the page is what the image is supposed to look like. The image there is a .png and it turned out fine.

As, you can see, the image in-game is not what I wanted and I would really appreciate some help with this.
It would be great if somebody could take the original, un-resized image and properly format and resize it for me. I would be very grateful.

Just in case, if I somehow uploaded the images wrong or something, all of the white area is supposed to be transparent while leaving only the blue and purple visible.

b:thanks You aren't the only one that had issues with their icon after this update. I can see if I can rework the original large sized one back to the similar version you had before it messed up.

EDIT: Here is your icon. I can't send it through image hosting sites, they convert it to PNG and then that messes with the alpha channel.

The icon you linked me was not sized properly, 16x14 (Don't know what happened there), so I tried resizing it myself and I seemed to have messed it up. b:surrender
Now our icon looks like unicorn puke. xD

I appreciate your help, and it would be great if you could fix the size of the icon and link it back to me since I cannot figure out how to do so myself without **** up the file type or something.
