Farming Methods-Selling Mats vs Selling crafted item

I've been recently paying lunar fee when it was lunar BH time for it since x2 ended and Def essences are 3m+, and on 1 run today I got Ancient Tinder, and looked it up with the thought of collecting mats to possibly make Deicides but saw I needed other more expensive mats. So I started thinking...."In what areas are things best sold, selling mats vs selling crafted item?".

What do you all do when it comes to such a case? Do you prefer to sell the mats needed or the item crafted and what mats do you farm to sell/craft with to sell what item?

    Rather simple

    1) Is the sum of the whole greater than the parts? If yes, sell the whole item, if no than go to 2.

    2) Is the sum of the parts greather than the whole? Yes, sell the parts.

    In case of deicide.

    Mats = Souledge: Manhunt

    Empire's Back Image (4)

    Chromatic Tinder (2)

    Ancient Tinder

    Essence of Nature (25)

    Manhunt = free lets say.

    Empire image = 10.44m chip cost, 10m if bought = 40m

    Chromatic tinder = 9 m chip cost, 3~8m if bought = 6~18m

    Ancient tinder = 9m chip cost, 1~3m if bought = 1~3m

    Total = 47m~61m if bought on cheap side. If chipped 67m

    On my server low refine to 0 refined deicide = 30~40m.

    For the above case is number 2, parts are of greater value than the whole, so i sell the parts.

    Hook and thorns (lazy fish i tell ya)

    Forshura's Hook (8)

    Feng's Black Armor (8)

    Klunky Sword (16)

    Souledge: Bloodlusting Tongues

    Ultimate Substance (9)

    Forshua hooks = 100k~300k for each = 800k~2.4m

    Feng's black armour = 50k~300k for each 400k~2.4m

    Klunky sword = 1k~8k for each 16k~128k

    Assume the soul edge is free as well as the subs.

    Let's say you are too low lvl to kill wurlord, mean boss. But you can acquire the mats for free, easy stuff. You go with others and split the mats. Total cost to make hook and thorns is 800k~2.4m, People sell this for 2~8m.

    If you can solo tt, all mats are free, that is a quick way to get rid of your forshura hooks for a profit.

    Not the best example i know. Nirvana gear is a better example, mostly 10~50m over priced.
