Anyone think there will ever be a PWI-2?

I know that over the years, this game has just been extremely successful. Whether due to hardcore fans, or hardcore CS players, this game has still not died. It probably won't die for a few more years, either. I just was wondering if any of you thought there might be a PWI-2 in the future? By this I mean, newer, better graphics, a more balanced class system (no sin hate here, just saying~), and a new world for us all to explore? I mean granted, we keep having large content updates but, when/if they run out of map room/classes to give us, does anyone think there could ever be a sequel to our well-loved game? b:cute

Also, just a disclaimer, this is not meant for bashing or trolling or any sort of put downs at PWI or its members, I just wanted to see if anyone else had explored this possibility b:victory

    You mean perfect world 3?

We are already playing the second version. The first version is the pay 2 play version that's still live in china.

As for your question, I doubt it. Wanmei has shown a declining interest in this game and has been focusing on making cheap mmos with the same engine.
If there is ever a pw3, it would look similar to fw, have very few customization options, plenty of daily quests + in game botting + afk exp, and would still run on angelica with slight optimizations.

A pw3 with the current management that Wanmei has would not turn out well, at least not here in the west.
PWI only turned out well because the original devs had a clue what a proper mmo is.

Just keep in mind I'm not discounting the possibility of a pw-3, it just won't be very likely or if it happens, it would have a style that's very different to pw.
If you like how pw is currently set up, a pw3 may not be the right mmo for you since it would be made by an entirely different team of developers. It would be less of a sequel and more of a spiritual successor.

If the original devs made PW3 I'd even consider using real money.

I'd rather they release p2p pw over here for money, just because it has housing, cash shop items in npcs, and balanced tb. I think they keep up to date with all the fash, aerogear, and mounts that we have.

I believe they don't have Earthguards though...

We have no idea what could have happened if the original devs hadn't been replaced.

All of that could've been available, with some exceptions.

Meh, enough daydreaming for one night.

If the original devs were still there...

Tideborn would've still happened. Back when those lands were "Upcoming" areas there was evidence of some stuff being placed there where the tideborn lands are now.
There is even evidence of this in the older clients, there were two classes called genie and monk that were set to spawn in the tb land (they had no model or anything).

I wouldn't take those names for granted though, that is just what the classes are labeled as in one of the files that has template stats (like what they start off with).
The names of the classes in the template file are swordsman, mage, nec, hag, ogre, azn, archer, angel, blade, and genie.

    Anyways...
More cities like Archosaur. One for each of the elements.
Content going up to level 150. Actual content. There were always higher level quests but there wasn't enough of them post 105 to justify getting up to 150.
Black sand palace. Contrary to popular belief, the actual dungeon was made, it just lacks mobs.
A really scenic area where the earthguard is now. They were placing stuff there in the upcoming area.
More diverse emotes and voices for the races. Only the human race was finished in that aspect.
Guild houses. The original and quite scenic guild base (the one we have now is nothing like it).

That's just from the old devs, from what I can and quite a few others can piece together.
The newer devs are worse in this aspect not because they don't produce enough but because they constantly cutting out stuff or being told to drop features presumably to meet deadlines.

A list of what has been cut from the new dev's work would be a very long list...

Instead of a PWI-2 (or 3) i think the new successor to PWI has already been implemented, and its name is RaiderZ.

(I am truly sorry if the rules forbid me to name another PWE game in a PWI forum post)b:surrender

I think it's fine in the rules to mention other pwe games.

RaiderZ is made by MAIET, they have nothing to do with Wanmei ( the maker of perfect world).
RaiderZ isn't a bad mmo but it's going to attract hackers as soon as the gameguard for it gets cracked. I believe the same fate happened to another mmo from MAIET, called GunZ.

I try not to bring gloom and doom into these type of threads but that's just the terrible truth of perfect world. What I say on the forums is the tip of the iceburg.

If I really wanted to, I could make a documentary called "An Unconvenient Truth: PW edition".
I got plenty of material for it... b:shutup

I have no pictures for black sand palace because there was never a client released that had the dungeon files on it. There's just only evidence that a dungeon was made for it, but never released.

I was reading thru PW's annual report, and saw this about their game
    engine:

"The logic part of the Angelica 3D game engine provides the framework
for the continuous evolution of the game story and game episodes.
Under the logic engine, all game elements including characters, weapons, skills,
game plots and scenes, are defined as abstract parameters and assigned with
relative probabilities. Based on the complicated algorithms, formulas and
computation processes supported by the logic engine, our program developers
optimize and maintain the systematic balance and evolution of the various game
elements to create a consistently challenging and exciting game experience
and a game environment that is perceived as fair by the players."

IMO, there was a serious failure in one of the elements listed in the
    above paragraph.

The report also states they expect the lifespan of "most" of their games
    to be 3-5 years.

Also, that the vast majority of their revenue is derived from "item-based"
    games (f2p w/a cash shop), as opposed to "time-based" (p2p). Since I
believe they only have 1 p2p game (Perfect World), but several "item-based"
games (all the others), of course that would be true. But it's apparent
(and maybe it was actually mentioned in the report) that "item-based" makes
them more money than "time-based". They did specifically state that all
future game releases will use the "item-based" model.

I have often wished PW had put PWI into a special category: the game
which might not make the big spikes in profits but which would compensate
for that with longevity. Kind of a "slow & steady wins the race" type of
thinking. If they could make PWI last as long as those other game
warhorses out there, that in itself would tend to attract new customers,
as everyone would think "it's been around so long, it must be
good, I'll check it out." But I think it's too late for that now.

    Bolded are buzzwords

So if we get rid of the unnecessary words:
"The Angelica 3D game engine provides the framework
for the game story and episodes.
Under [this] engine, all game elements including characters, weapons, skills,
game plots and scenes, are defined as parameters. Based on the formulas supported by the engine, our program developers

elements to create a challenging and exciting game experience
and a game environment [for] the players."

Comes out a bit odd but it wasn't written properly anyways.

What they really wanted to say:
"The Angelica 3D game engine provides the framework
for [making quick and cheap mmos without a need to upgrade the antiqued engine].
Under [this] engine, all game elements including characters, weapons, skills,
game plots and scenes, are defined as parameters [that are manipulated with the player's cash shop abilities]. Based on the formulas supported by the engine, our program developers [rehash] ... the various game
elements to create a ... [cash shop simulator for western gamblers]."

Wanmei has shown a declining interest in this game and has been focusing on making cheap mmos with the same engine.
If there is ever a pw3, it would look similar to fw, have very few customization options, plenty of daily quests + in game botting + afk exp, and would still run on angelica with slight optimizations.

Panda wants to buy proof of that negative assumption.

Dont care about the flagship namesake tiltle? Dont care about expanding it? Dont care about that bottom line? Dont care about their player base? Is that why they are eating up other studios in the last 12 months? Is that why after 4 years this is still the game they put the most effort into? Is that why it is still the namesake? Is that why they license it all over the world? Must be because they dont care, dont have a clue and dont understand how to run a business.

Sorry Bubbles, Fuzzy dont give a **** about your translation threads, but if you somehow imagine they show a lack of intrest and would sacrifice the namesake .... you are out of touch.

Speakin of touch... what do you have to offer proof other than a translation from wanmai of a game that is still their #1? Anything more than rumour supposition and guess work? Your negativity contrubutes nothing, your guess work as to the motives offers nothing and you probably wouldnt know a GM or a Dev if they rang your door bell..

This thread serves no purpose as far as Fuzzy can see an if you have a problem with that, pm him.
