Better yet, make the culti a 'limit break' type of quest. In other words, no completed culti = no progressing beyond whatever level that culti is for.

And yes, that means no level 101/R9 until your level 100 culti is complete.b:cute

While I really like this idea... no R9 until culti complete, okay. But 101 also means no morai g15 which is endgame for some of us. b:surrender

But the issue isn't gear, it's about not wanting people to be able to level up quickly with no idea of how the game works/how to play their characters in groups.

Putting a level requirement on FC/tiers of hypers won't stop the problem. People who want to powerlevel will find a way to do so (and really, this would only hurt the poor players, since the other powerleveling methods would still be easily attainable with money). There are still oracles/crazy stone/cube/reflection exp. You can spam cube if you are willing to shell out for the directorate letters. "Deep reflection" is coming with the new expansion. You already don't even have to do anything to get reflection shards really, as a supply stash will give you at least 20 (I have no idea if there are any past that, as I just NPC the stash once it requires the hammer to open). That's 20 hours of reflection exp for 182 tokens (i.e. peanuts to the rich merchants/CSers).

Making cultivation a requirement to advance in level is really the only way to create a 'barrier' that cannot be powerleveled/AFK exp'd around, and would equally affect the rich/poor/newbies/vets.

"Soloing cultiXX. A per spot. PM for invite"

And newbies without connections will still have the same hard time as they do with everything else... only now they'll hit a true roadblock they can't do anything about.

The best solution I can think of to date to cut and or eliminate Powerleveling short of oracles is level requirements to use hyper exp multipliers of hypers.

I have this as one of my suggestions in my docs I have working on with the staff to restrict FF level entry.

Though I'm going to add the one about hyper multipliers as well now I think about it. b:victory

I'm all for ending Plvling And for putting lvl caps on instances. But please no messing with the hypers, I use them like pauseable Estoricas. Before I go to bed I activate the 3 hour setting then let the exaustion eat away wile I sleep and work during the day when I get back on I activate them wile I'm doing those friggin kill count quest pause them when im done or taking a break. Cant you put level requirements on the PQ bosses instead? You know if your not high enough lvl those bosses wont give you any EXP at all. Actually doing that with all mobs would pretty much kill PLvling. tho there will still be oricles.

Tho I would like a 2X exp setting for hypers that last like 8 or more hours.

Most people that power level want to do it RIGHT FREAKIN NOW RAWR!!!

If they want to spend THAT much in time and coins to buy oracles and kill the same mob over and over, then I say let them. They can't start oracles til level 30.

Also, approximate oracle costs to level, after figuring in the coin rewards:

    30-35: 770,000
    35-40: 960,000
    40-45: 1,460,000
    45-50: 2,100,000

That's 5,290,000 to get 20 levels. Assuming an average token price of 15k. But if this becomes the norm for power leveling, token prices could potentially double, making this method even less desirable.

Not to mention, the mobs for the oracles aren't exactly easy kills. Even at lvl 70 those mythical wolfkins are a pain.

Reflection is great, but can't really be considered a power leveling method. This can't be done until lvl 31. At 93 I got about 2230 a minute. At a max of 12 hours, that's 1,600,000 per day. About 7% of a level. And in order to get these regularly, you have to do cube runs, roll call, and bh's (I think world quest as well? don't remember). So I think the most you can get on an average day is 7 or 8.

Oracles were the old way of powerleveling, or at least finishing off that last 10-ish %.

There were huge fights and KSing that went on at the spawns. It's a mess.

And the oracle mobs are pretty easy for just about every class, Ive seen them all soloed without effort with back-in-the-day gear (that you now get better stuff for free), save by clerics at times. Wolfkins aren't an efficient way to spend your money, btw.

I got 2 levels from 5 hours of reflection last night in my 30s on my psy. Actually, Id say about 75% of my exp getting to 33 came from all the bonus exp, and 20% from quests, mostly Culti. That's ridiculous. If this trend stays, no wonder people don't know how to play their toons.

I have ZERO money. The DQ price change blows.

I remember when EG update came out, it was a FULL BLOWN WAR for seekers and mystics to get the oracle kills. We tried taking turns but some people refused to listen. It was pathetic. Got so bad someone threatened to bring their 100 char to 1-2 shot the oracle so people would stop fighting over it.

The illusion stone requisite lvl 75 to teleport directly in the cave, so i think the cave should be lvl 75+ as well, but at that point of the game i think that will not change much.
