Level 90 Axes

So I'm approaching level 90, and have a quick question.

I'm having a hard time picking my level 90 axes, and was wondering what the best ones are for my level. I focus primarily on Damage Dealing, AoE damage, and Stunning. I don't care as much about my Vitality, as I never have to act as a tank. (Not that I'm squishy by a long shot, but I'm not the most durable BM either). So I want my axes to be the best for dealing damage.

So, what advice can I get on this matter? Thank you in advance!

TT90 gold axes are the best for DD output, considering they have sac strike: http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/14830

For regular highest damage, taking in consideration a +5 weapon, the FC Dual Hammer "Absolute Dominator" take the spot.

I'd totally go for the TT90 gold ones, though. So fun to land a couple of zerc crits...

even thou those tt90 gold axe is great it cost abouth 25mil....and to be honest it is far from end game.....soon you gona be 100 and then your options change...if you plan to go for nirvana axe sometime i would say go for http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/14826 and then you can get tt99 http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/14831 and go nirvy path from there
if you take tt90 gold you are stuck whit those and cant sell when you decide to change your axe
so depends what you plan in futureb:victory
PVE i would say at 95 join luminance and go for http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/33534
PVP tt90 gold is just fine becos of sac strike

So I want my axes to be the best for dealing damage.

So, what advice can I get on this matter? Thank you in advance!

Okay I'm gonna address two things here:

    Tanking:
If you are focusing on DDing, AoE, and Stunning...grats you should be tanking. Unless you have an OP sin in your squad, whom you can still out DD well if you have decent refines - you're tanking. Don't ignore armor refines and shards. Vit on gear is important too.

The fact you say you never have to tank leads me to believe you are not chaining your AoEs well, and not focusing on Fist damage efficiency versus bosses....or are always outgeared by the Sin in your squad. I really suggest checking out Saku's guide, chaining your AoEs better, and utilizing Cloud Eruption to 3 spark and HF at the same time.

I'd also ask if all your skills were maxed (masteries, AOE skills).

If you are doing everything correctly...I'm officially weirded out you aren't tanking anything. Unless you've got a max for level aps sin with better weapon refines with you constantly and some sorta +10 Seeker.

In my 80s and 90s unless the sin was equal geared or better, I had aggro. Seekers only had aggro if I was slacking off and doing more CC than damage, AND if they had similar or better refines on their weapons. The fights didn't last long enough for them to grab aggro if I was going full out damage.

    Armor & Weapons:
If you build yourself decent, with 3-5 (+4 is fine) armor refines, Flawless Cits, and +5ish or better axe and fist refines (6-7 is nice), you will/should be pulling and tanking. No need for a Barb (You pull just as well/better, and hold aggro better), can use a mystic as healer (you tank just fine), and don't need an OP sin to tank - they just need to be there for BP.

Ideally, get TT90 Green Mountaincrasher Boots, Pants, Chest. TT90 Gold General's Bracers for the -0.1. Wraithgate robe is plenty, WoE or similar HP level hat is nice.

Ring wise, Mistys are fine till 95ish, but you could get dual attendance rings or Heavenly Lords: http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/8385.

Belt just get anything that is a MR belt, and Neck get anything that is a 5% hp neck.

All of that will serve you well until 100 until you're ready for Nirvvy/TT99 Aps gears.

    Axes:
If this was months ago before Morai, Id recommend the similar stuff as others stated above. But Morai has changed a lot of things.

Don't waste your money on Calloused Lionheart Hatchets.

Just stay with whatever TT80 axes till 95. It's kinda rough damage wise, but you should still be able to keep up well enough if they are +5 or better. Hold out for:

    http://www.pwdatabase.com/pwi/items/33519

It's free. Refined up it AoEs really well. That will hold you through till 100 easy.

If you are seriously concerned, get Beacon Axes as recommended above until you can use the freebee Morai axes. They have the best resell value of all the TT90 axes (Calloused Lionhearts are bound, I have a +10 set rotting in the bank myself).

Do not go Lumi for the upgraded Morai Axes unless those will be your "End game" PvE axes. The reason I say this is because the two other orders have better skills and **** to get, and if you end up not wanting these, you just spent over a month in Lumi for nothing.

See this thread about end game axes: http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1481561&page=2

    Fists:
Right now, Gorenox Vanities. They DD well and Heal.
    95, Deicides.
Everything past that: See the 9000 other threads. I recommend stage 1 Nirvana Claws until you're ready for stage 3 Nirvana. I feel the damage difference between Stage 1 Nirvana claws and Deicides is noticeable, but you can hang with Deicides if they are refined 8-10 for a while.

Calloused Lionheart Hatchets (TT90 gold) are your best axes. The problem is they run about 20m and don't upgrade.

Star Axes are tt90 and have a Gloom proc, which is 100% weapon damage (doubles weapon damage, not overall damage. About a 30% increase) for 5% mp. They have +dmg and +vit adds and are resellable. They run about 8m.

Gatherstorms, FCC gold, are very decent when the revenge proc is active. The problem is most bms aoe in spurts of 2-5 attacks which isn't much of a chance for revenge to proc and be active. Still, it contains str and crit and offers decent damage output.

At 95 you'll get free Morai Axes, Herculean Halberd. These offer decievingly high damage and are free for about 20 minutes of questing and will last you till 100+ axes.
Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory

I should clarify, I don't tank during bosses. I have no problem tanking mobs, but I always have my friend (a Barb) tank bosses for my squad. I don't neglect my armor at all :D

And thank you all for your input. I'll take what you say heavily into consideration when I reach 90-95!

Okay cool. Sorry I get all "grrr bark bark grrr" on BMs and playstyle.

If you have GVs, Wraithgate Robe, and -int wrists you should be outdamaging/outtanking your Barb friend with 3spark if you two are similar level.

90+, especially 92+ he wont have a chance if you're stacking the full interval you can (even without Tome). Just make sure your fist/claws are refined +5 or higher.

i remember i was always tanking at lvl 80-90 something, until they get 99 gear then it got hard, but other times i could hold aggro, with my +5 Pan Gu's Giant Axe
    I do not need much,
    I do not have much,
    I do not miss much,
    I have love and friendship,
    To compensate for that!

85-88 Sins would steal aggro on and off with some lucky crits, BMs would tag aggro slightly less than sins. For the most part I could tank if I used CE and Spark pots to keep chi up. (I was 85 before the APS days)

    89/90+
+10 GXs, and if the BM went full out with +6 or better Deicides, I didn't have aggro even if I use chi pots to constantly spam FR and Devour. And Im a demon barb. Well refined GVs was a crapshoot if they had TT90 Gold Bracers.

Recently in BH100 I'll have aggro, and I'll go wtf, and then find out the people are using like +4 - +5 weapons. Anything +10, the APS guys or Range DDs grab aggro - I maybe tear it back for a second on and off.

Case in reverse point: +10-+12 R9 Sage barbs don't get aggro vs my BM after I go 3 Spark, and +10 - +12 Demon barbs will have it for a second or less every 3rd flesh ream if they go full out.
