Very weird story...

...long story short, I was helping a few days ago in a bh59 squad, when at about second 1/3 of the run after some random chat with the people there, it came out that I had a 5 aps Sin and then someone said "lol why are you using Cleric then?"(Note there was another Cleric in squad).
"I like using Cleric" pretty much my answer.
Well in the end after killing the fourth boss (still one left to kill) one Sin in squad left because he had no more time and he called me selfish because I was using a Cleric when I could have used my Sin and get the work done 10 times faster and thus I was wasting people's time.
Basically I should use my Sin every time I help in a BH because its faster...if I use my Cleric(because I prefer playing Cleric), Im a selfish and a noob.
Not sure if I should get sad or mad b:surrender

Why were you helping randoms with their BH, though?
Sad as it may be, that's what you can expect from them these days.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
People are such spoiled idiots nowadays. lol
That comment wasn't only ungrateful as hell, it's also stupid. If he doesn't have time, well his fault. You went out of your way to help them and get mocked for it. That's just wrong.
But yea, that generation of selfish noobs is the reason I rarely help anyone that's not a friend nowadays. If you can't even say a little "ty", well sorry, you're simply not worth my time. b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

b:surrender People should be grateful you helped at all. It takes longer to run bh59 at level (although more fun in my opinion) than having a 101 cleric nuke everything. <_< And I'd prefer the person helping me have fun doing it with a char they love to play.
I guess I just remember the days when you were lucky if you got someone even 10 levels over you to help with a BH. Lazy kids these days <[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

This is one case where I would have named and shamed him in WC. And I don't typically do that (actually I've never done besides having drops stolen) but that one would've ticked me off. Honestly, don't worry about it. That sin is an idiot and doesn't deserve to get anymore help from any high levels, period.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I have had that before helping out on a BH79. I went to help a 'friend' who kept calling me to act as a cleric. First of all I am a mystic and yes I can heal but I detest being used for only that.
When I got into the squad there was a high level sin there too who decided he was not going to help them kill one boss. The result was that he died at the hands and then I got a message saying "Why did you not buff me with res?" Well I was at the boss killing for the squad I was helping and it was there that I buffed everyone.
So in the end I was the cleric, DD and I died because no one else much was attacking the boss when I was was. This was before I had r9.
I did the whole thing and then pm'd my 'friend' and told him never again will I help with a squad like that. His reaction? "Oh are you too good for us lower levels now that you are getting r9?"
Suffice to say he is no longer on my friend list because random squads are bad enough but when it is a friend that does that to you then they do not deserve that title."Karma is a cruel mistress" - Kelley York, Hushed

If you just help, don't tell them you have a sin.
People don't appreciate anymore what people do for them. I would have personally left the squad the second they would tell me i'm selfish cause i don't solo on sin, i would have say ''You don't appreciate my help, well you don't deserve it'' *leave squad*.
I have the similar problem, i have 2 cleric 100+ and a wizz 101, but play mystic as main and many people often tell me ''Come on wizz, use your cleric'' etc... people don't understand that i play my mystic cause it's the char i wanna play, i won't play chars i don't enjoy just to please them, if they need a cleric, well they can make one and lvl it if they are not happy, i'm not a slave.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Imagine that. A person who didn't have friends to help him and couldn't get his factionmates to volunteer ended up being a jerk?
This reminds me of a thread in the General section where a person was WCing for a 100+ cleric specifically to help them with their fb59. They refused other peoples offers of help. When no 100+ cleric's helped, they got pissy and rage quit pwi.
What FBs do you actually need for cultivation. FB39, Fb59, and a pillar in FB69 and FB79, right? If you want people to help you, make it easier for them to help you and get wine.
The most annoying WC (because of a heavy psychology background) is people who say "Who wants to help my with this [links FBxx tab]". Like we 'want' to help them and they're allowing us that opportunity, rather than asking people politely to be helped.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. What psychological factors does it reveal, I'm curious?
And for culti you have to do the 20x3 for FB69 so can't wine it til the final run. You also need mobs in 39 for lowbie quests, and it makes little sense not getting ti done at the same time while it's beneficial. So wine for those aren't really a good idea. FB59 however can be wined if the person can afford it. Although I never require it because that is also the level people have to buy their ultis (which they will be considered if fail if they don't have them) so the only people who can typically afford to do so are alts. The ultis and the TT60 weapon are kinda expensive for that level. I don't think there is a reason not to wine 79 though. The 79 20x3 isn't mandatory, so I don't help with it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I might be wrong, but i think the quest 20x3 is to get the last tab for FB which is nothing to do with culti.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You only need fb59, first boss in fb69, last boss in fb79, fb89, and fb99 for culti. Every other fb/fb boss can be skipped.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

True, every time I discuss it I have to get reminded that it's not the same thing. I mean I KNOW it's not the same thing at all. But, I've been playing for three years now, have played every class in the game. I even finally started a barb although it's not enough of a level to get the true feel of the class yet. But I have always done my FB and Culti at the same exact time, always. So I think of the same anyway. b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

When they are asking the question as "Who wants to do my fb for me?" rather than asking if we will help, essentially its a manipulation getting us to want to do things for them. They want us to come to them to help them, when really its them that needs something and should be coming to us for help. Its manipulative, sociopathic, and changes the balance of power in the squad. If you are the high level, doing the work, and they require you to accomplish what they need, you hold the upperhand in that relationship and its not you that wants to accomplish their fb, its them that wants you to accomplish their fb and has the lowerhand. Yet by asking "who wants to do my fb for me" they get to do you a favor by 'giving you what you want'.
Its all about manipulating you into doing what they want and keeping power in a relationship.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory0 -

Huh, interesting. I always assumed they were just joking around being playful. Didn't realize they were being manipulative. You learn something new everyday. Thanks.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
