Torrent is Peer to peer meaning you get small pieces of the download from possibly hundreds of players (not from PWI) much higher chance of getting a broken or virus infected file. Downloading directly from PWI is safer. I've never had a problem downloading directly.

not much of a differnce anymore.. use to be that the direct download was exactly that a direct download from the site but now you download a "installer" which installs a torrent client known as Pandora if i remember right and it does a torrent style download from there b:surrender if i were you id download another torrent client and use the torrent download option since Pandora (that the direct download installs) will always run in the background of your computer until its uninstalled b:surrender people have said before that Pandora usually causes tons of lag on there computer until it was uninstalled

it might be called Pando (the installer that the direct downloader installs) been over a year since i had to reinstall pw so i cant remember the name to well :X

id say go with the torrent b:surrender since the direct download is also a torrent its just the installer for the direct download is a crappy torrent client Pando Media Booster (found the name lol)
but if you have problems with the torrent link use the direct download but make sure when your done to uninstall Pando Media Booster

No, this is not true. There is Hash checks for each piece of torrent file. If the code does not match, the torrent client will not receive the package.

I don't understand, you have gotten many good answers.

I would say to download a torrent client like BitTorrent, and download it through the torrent. It's faster (imo) and you won't have to worry about Pando, which sucks anyway.

Also, whichever one you do, there's no viruses or anything to worry about.

Well, it's only better imo because you use a program that you control, where the direct, you most likely wouldn't of known about Pando. So, no you don't have to uninstall your torrent program (just make sure to close it when it's done so it won't still seed) if you don't want to, and I'm not sure what you mean by laggy? You mean the game itself, or that the download won't be laggy, because the answers to both questions depends on your internet connection.

    1. Start
    2. Control Panel
    3. Programs and Features
    4. Find Pando
    5. Click on it then click the Uninstall button
    6. ??????
    7. Profit!

Windows will always do that with a unknown file. Just click "ok".

Yes, because your using the network to download pwi, and play another game, and browsing this forum. Everything internet related will be slow until the download is done. Just remember to uninstall Pando afterwords.

It would be very beneficial to do that. Wireless has the tendency to do things like that, plus with a direct connection, it would be much faster to download (but your internet would still experience slowdown until it's done)
