There are a few good posts in here listing pro's and cons to the game as a whole which seems to address what the OP was asking. Like others have said, Fuzzy would suggest the best possible answer is to try the game for yourself, and read some of the sub-forums such as the class related sections and the beginner guides to get a feel for things.

As for this thread, the panda is going to put a stop to it before it devolves further into an argument of opinions.
