I was thinking to make a Wizz...

...but I was reading some posts and everybody says that they are obsolete, nobody want Wizz in parties, all the other classes are stronger than the Wizz...
So tell me reasons to play a Wizz. I played some classes (Sin, Seeker, Psy...) and I like them but I get bored sometimes when I play them for a long time and I need to switch to another class and after some time return to my other classes... I like alternating physic and magic clases to no get bored. I like my Psy, I love its buffs and debuffs but I want to try some powerful and amazing skills from the Wizz like the ice dragon.
But I get discouraged when I read something about them... they seem the sidelined classe of the game.

Wizard is not a class you make if you intend to "grow" with it. In fact I think 99% of the wizards out there are funded by a farming alt or have spawned out of the many people getting bored of their BMs/Sins/APSBarbs and have an excess amount of coins to sink in to a class.
What do you plan to do with the wizard? What do you enjoy doing?
Going to PVE? With caster nirv it is a "popular' class but then you have the hurdle of the weapon/refines etc to make people want to take you to caster nirv. The bosses are tough if you have low HP. The good weapon hurdle is actually not that big of a deal, you can get the PVE weapon that costs 4.5k Prestige to get in..Not sure which order but one of the 3. That weapon is equal to R9 with it's slaying levels and the attack levels from Jones' blessing.
Are you PVPing? You will be obliterated by anything that farts in your direction until you get reasonable refines, and even than it'll take 2 farts untill you get really good refines. Of course this becomes less true the better you get with kiting and using your genie/CC skills to your advantage.
Are you going to TW? Same goes for TW as it does for PVP only on a bigger scale.
Wizards kill cata barbs/BMs. People tend to protect them, a huge spiraling icey dragon animation gives it away. Most classes have a range stun/seal/sleep that takes 0 to 2 seconds to cast. BIDS/BT takes about anywhere from 2 to 5 times longer to cast. This does not mean that with the right refines/skill-level that you won't blow people up to oblivion. But it's just not as easy to do stuff on as it is on a psy with all of it's buffs, a sin with it's stealth or a seeker with it's tons of def levels.
As being on the "sideline". Well what I said is pretty much why people don't roll wizzies as often. Most that do do it after they've established some coin to have a well geared wizard. Others just don't want/can't deal with the annoyance that is building the character up from scratch.
My advice to you is; if you plan to simply PVE and have fun. Roll whatever class you want, regardless of what people say Wizards are popular DDs when it comes to PVE stuff for the lower levels (Think FC, RB, Phoenix Valley/other AoE instances), and they ARE fun to play when you are not in a rush to hit 100 and do the same thing every day for the rest of your wizzie life.
However if you are going to PK/PVP/Plan to farm on the character in caster nirv. I suggest that you have an outside source of income besides the wiz to fund the wiz to the point where the wiz is capable of holding it's own in caster nirvana/TW/PK.
Also if you really want to get "motivated" about making a wizard, go watch some of the PK videos that nurfed_you, Faceroll or Fayhumming have posted. Providing they all have excellent to superb gear, it also shows that if you do put enough time and effort in to the class and learn how to play it that it is definitely not a "sideline" class as people may suggest. b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

To be honest, I like playing as a wizard. They are quite fun once you get the hang of them. The only setback that I see in wizards is the lack of anti stun. And against sins, you won't get far.
Here are some videos of a few wizzies pawning...

reasons to play wizard
1) if played right you have the potential to kill anything
2) requires intention to kill players of decent or greater skill/gear level.
3) can easily tell difference b/w veteran/new wiz. due to the necessity of understanding range, and vulnerability.
4) aoe in TW
5) Harry Potter, we're effin magicalfull r999 91% chan wizzy b:kiss
