So I just bought it the other day. Bonus stats were: Mag +18, Dex +19, Vit +18. Got it to +5 with Tisha's/Tienkang and decided to compare it to R8 +5.

Didn't do extensive testing, but from what I could see, the damage was pretty identical. Both Morai Bow and R8 bow refine the same. With that being said, Morai bow lacks +4% Crit and -0.1 interval, making it not worth the investment.

Although, it does look pretty, and is completely refreshing from the sea of R8/R9 bows.

but now compare 16.8m (?) to get it against 2m for bow AND getting r8, which isnt cheap, even less if you dont have gold... then i;d say this thread proves its a very nice replacement

You can reroll the stats on the bow for something more suited to what you would like. Due to the 60 slayer levels yes in PvE the Morai weapon kicks r8s butt. But for PvP R8 still wins.
Also keep in mind R8 is much more expensive.

I knew you calculated it somewhere, just couldn't find it. Also, the Morai bow is selectable in pwcalc if you wish to recalculate since the Morai bow refines for +32 vs CV's +35. http://pwcalc.com/5e77b23f685c0b0e saved you some trouble of switching it out.

I think what may have flawed my observations was the fact that I have yet to put shards into the Morai bow, whereas my R8 has Perfects. That's a difference of about 400 base PAtk. I plan on acquiring Morai Garnets.

I was also going on the assumption that every 101+ Archer already has R8 or better, which is a bad assumption.

Going by that, I retract my previous statement of it being not worth the investment, and state that it is indeed, a good investment. Especially for those who can not afford R8 [or choose not to get Rank gear]

All builds below use the R9 Ring in order to make a fair comparison. I know there is excess Strength; the original build was based off of something that could use Deicides.

The R9 build does not use the R9 armor. I am only comparing bows. A full R9 build would deal more damage due to set bonuses.

So, as you can see, the Seraphic Shooter: Sky does about as much damage as the R9 bow, minus R9 set bonuses, in a PvE setting. Thus, for PvE, Seraphic Shooter: Sky is certainly not a waste of coins if you do not want to go full R9.
