Another art event, where are the writing events?

As the title stated, time and time again I see multiple drawing/art contests such as the new "Draw your character event", The loading screen contest, and even the t-shirt contest a while back. While I do enjoy looking at all the submissions for these events, myself and many others have little to no skill in expressing ourselves with visual art but are adept at doing so verbally.

I have searching the forums to see if there were ever any contests for those of us who aren't gifted in the field of art but can work wonders with pen and paper. However my search has turned up empty handed. Therefore, either I am unable to find any results or there was never a writing contest to begin with. If the latter proves true, why hasn't there been any?

I'm almost sure there was once an event where players were writing up stories for an NPC...

In any case, I agree with the OP. Having both writing and art events from time to time would be nice~

Well to be honest, they all tickets are read and those concern game content which is part of their job; I would be doubtful they would read all the writing entries they would receive if it was just for the good of the community and it could potentially be a lot to sift thru unless its a one line thing which then just doesn't really do many writers much justice...

Seriously, the one thing I suck at is art. Gimme a writing contest, or, god forbid, something unique like music writing or programming.

Either that, or don't f*cking discriminate when I submit a drawing of stick figures holding ambiguous horribly drawn blobs of unidentifiable polygons. I probably worked as hard at that as the guy who drew that magical pony with real 3-d effects and individual strands of hair each shining off the gleam of a bright fiery sun.

Want to bet they let poorly modified screen shots win prizes like they did in the last one?

True, but sometimes even with the drawing events I question their judgement. Granted we all have a different taste in art but I'm fairly certain most would agree with me on this.

Imagine them hosting a programming contest to fix some of their bugs/bad code in the game. b:chuckle

I actually laughed out loud reading this.

I told Frankie before, it'll be a good idea to have a music composing contest/lyrics writing contest for say, a new theme song/english version theme song. You can say it limits the amount of entries to the contest, but a drawing contest is also very talent specific and only people confident/good enough enter it.

Actually a music composition/lyrics contest sounds very interesting. Keep pushing for it! :3

As for the drawing contest yes it is talent specific but it seems to be the only talent recognized here while people gifted with other talents are figuratively thrown on the back burner and ignored. I'm just asking to put us on the front burner every once in a while so we don't feel neglected.

Of course I wouldn't expect the winner of a writing contest to have their entry be coded into the game but even something as silly as a short story, a 1 act script for a play, or a fake/humorous documentary/biography stickied on the forums for few weeks or a month and a prize like a mount or whatnot would do just as fine.

If I had to use an analogy it just feels like we're the kids that try to show off sometime we made out of legos or markers to a teacher or parent but their too busy praising the kid who is a child prodigy at playing the piano. While that person does have an extraordinary gift, it's not good parenting to ignore the other kids.
