Cube Necklace and costs.

I'm curious why no one farms their cube necklaces. Unless it costs less then 100mil to buy a cube necklace or cube of fate stamp from another player. You're losing money you could've saved for something else. See Cube Guide (1-50)(51-60)

Here are the required ingredients to make a cube necklace.

Rotating Cog of Fate (30) = 15 days(2 runs a day fewer days if multiple accounts) 30~40mil

CoF Secret Letter(15) [to get 2 Cogs of fate a day] = 110 Celestial Insignias and 1.8mil

Warsoul: Ksitigarbha = 16.9mil

Warsoul: Vajra = 16.9mil

Grand total of 92.6~102.6mil to make. Keeping in mind this is by chiping the warsoul. You have a CHANCE of getting those mats for much less by gambling TT/Lunar mats. For Odds of success with different mats refer HERE.

HOWEVER. You also get Book Credit Cards which you can swap out for OBP or PoF. Depending on which is worth more on your server. Both take 10 which you get almost every run so lets say after the 15 runs you end up with enough to make 11 PoF or OBP. On our server they are 700k+ each atm. So subtract 7.7mil and you're at 85~95mil instead.

Now in between making the first and second rotating cog there is a wait period of 30minutes to prevent cogs from being mass farmed as an average cube run takes only about 15~20mins assuming you don't get stuck in a jail room loop.

If you have another account that is able to run cube I recommend doing it a second time on another character while you're first one is waiting on their timer. This is very time effective that way and making it only require 8 days instead of the initial 15.

Now of course there will always be people who are too "lazy" and just buy it because they can. But my question is WHY? Most of the time players sit around in arch "bored" anyways this gives them something to do. And on that note this makes obtaining one much easier for the less wealthy as they can earn it piece by piece rather then trying to save up one giant lump-some.

Something you didn't account for was the cost of the Celestial Insigs (on my server you could have sold those for around 80k each) and the opportunity cost of not being able to make 30 Pages of Fate in room 50 (you said they were 700k on your server so thats 21m in lost revenue).

The 'official' link you provided with the success stats is way out of date but you can find the correct stats on pwdb or the in game encyclopedia.

Also something that seems possible from looking at pwdb is to take a COF quest and the normal quest at once at the start so you will have 2 puzzle cubes in room 50. Then fill your inventory as you turn one of them in to prevent it from teleporting you as you turn in the second one. I haven't done this myself but see no reason why it won't work.

There are lots of stuff you can wonder why ppl doesnt do,farming is the biggest thing. Just take the Pan Gu Creator, ppl buys them for 300 mil when you just need 17500 tokens & the tome frags which isnt the hardest part to get. depending on token price ofc but the bill usually ends on 175 mil & around 1-2 month of full deltas and you got it.

I didn't include the cost of insigs yes, however if they aren't going to run cube anyways theres no loss when it's more cost effective to just run cube twice and make cogs to sell anyways then, because on average it only costs me 1.5~2mil for both cogs and they sell for 2.5mil+ then that on my server. Making those 2 runs valued at 3mil for both cogs vs 1.4mil from the PoF.

Yes they could use that as well.

Most people is too lazy to try cube over room 50 (it's annoying in most cases) or don't have enough money to farm it, as you can see, it still cost a freaking lot. So if you want to stop farming because someone shared the "secret" go ahead. There is more people working on it.b:bye

i dont know if advanced cube has PK rooms, but at least in normal cube most of pk enabled rooms have some jerk on full r9 +10 - +12 rpking everything that moves, that is just annoying and a waste of time, there are some rare days though when theres none of those.

I haven't seen a shop sell one under 110mil personally in months. In fact I have no problem helping you make your cogs as long as you supply me with the requisite materials to run it and the coin fee to making it to 60 I can apply after. I've done it for 10 friends already. b:chuckle

Wow, glad I'm on Dreamweaver where the Carebears live. I've done well over 200 cube runs, probably closer to 300, and only been purposely pk'd once - not counting the rooms where you're supposed to kill someone. I did get pk'd in 100 second stand once by a well-meaning cleric who was trying to help me kill the wondering mobs and used razor feathers. She apologized profusely after I told her what had happened.

You'd be surprised how many people don't know about ecatomb pwcalc pwwiki and MANY other things in this game.
I had to tell 6 people in the new character event about the HIDDEN level 50 1k quest that gives 140k EXP that STILL isn't listed in the quests.

You COULD if you were lucky enough and fast enough make 3 cogs in one trip but I STRONGLY don't recommend that.

I stated that already, though 1.5 hours seems high. On average it only takes me an hour.

if u hit room 32 it's already 5 mins and all the dig rooms take 2-3 mins except for like room 2. and room 6 and 45 is another 3-4mins (for non aps). I usually hit atleast three to four of those. Also, I kill 4 mobs in room 52, so that also takes time, but it worth it. And 3 Cogs in 1 trip is not possible at all, don't even try cause there will be exactly 1 hour between cog 1 and 3, meaning cog 3 is gone before u can convert it.

I guess gear level and other factors can affect one or two rooms, but in most cases a room shouldn't take you more then 30 seconds. But anyways.
You are correct on the last part it didn't occur to me when I used to do 3 there was no wait timer so it was quite possible to get 3 way back when and I haven't done a 3 in forever. Fixed in first post.

Or you could buy at what, 120m? To save 25m or so you advocate some 20+ hours of work, I wouldn't exactly call that a stellar bargain.

I could see why some people would want to do this, but it's hardly a no-brainer.

if someone is too dumb or lazy to figure out how to farm cube, this guide wont change things.

the FF gear to XP conversion has been in the game since FF was changed. Its not like it was a huge secret.

If you put the *** into farming something, you should be able to get the financial benefit of it. the thing that is missing in jen's guide is the time. If you double up cube runs, there is no way you are spending less than 40 minutes per 2 cogs. that's 10 hours. there's nothing wrong with charging ~30m for the time you put in. Its about the same as doing 10 powerlevels, without the annoying tele cost and dead helpful nubs.

Cube can be fun, as long as you don't get stuck on a jail loop.

I've only been killed in one of those rooms once (cuz yup, I just log out if I see someone coming anywhere near me), so it's really just a time waster.

Room 27 is the room I hate more than anything else. I have horribly bad speakers, so that room is pretty much a guaranteed return to Room 1. b:angry
