Evaluating +HP regeneration gear

I'm curious as to how to compare gear with +HP regeneration to similar or better gear resistance wise that lacks this bonus stat.

So far the best I've come up with is that if gear gives +7 HP regen and the fight lasts 10 seconds then its the same as if the gear had +70 HP on it.

Is this a fair evaluation of the +HP regen bonus stat value to the player?

    Hp regen its cutted down to 1/4 during battle mode.
    8 Hp Regen normal = 2 Hp Regen during battle

    It counts for every form of HP/MP regeneration aside from healing.

    It can lower the potion costs of grinding a bit at lower levels, but it's fairly useless at higher levels due to the increased damage intake and things mostly being in squad-based instances where you usually have a cleric backing you up anyway.

    On my BM, I had nearly a full set of lvl 60-ish drop gear that I used to grind with back in 09. It really helped keep you on the grind and saved a lot of money on pots. It was really only good for lvl-60-70's grinding. By the late 70's it didn't do much. These days it wouldn't really matter.
    I love puppies.... and sharp objects. b:pleased
