Is the Wizard a wise choice as a Main?

It's been something at the back of my mind for a while, cause I really like the skills but I know they're really limited in what they can do alone unless they are really geared properly.

So is it worth it in the end to level , farm mats and coins in limited means and pull all your time and effort into a wizard for a main?

or do you advise playing a wizard as a secondary char when you have another high level class that's more able to help you?

    Ofc it does, wiz is one of the best pvp-TW classes and also really fun to play in pve. maytbe roll another to farm, but honestly nowadays i farm more on my wiz than on my sin, ofc u really need to gear properly, crappy wizard is not good at all

    Wiz is my main for TW.
    If you go rank 9 then it's a good choice.
    I easily tank NV caster.

    You can account stash everything that is account stashable from a Mystic which is much more independent, and useful especially during earlier levels. Mystic is not for a casual / strict RPG gamer though. It takes effort, thought, etc.

    Also funny how my undergeared +5 Rank8 wizzy (4932 HP) makes more money than my 5aps +10 sin

    Eh TT gold mats for 99 int and chan armor are still worth a mint its depressing how unmotivated I am though

    (moar edits) I see tons of WC's for physical classs, but only a spare few for mages and even then a psy or mystic is preferable

    Edit: tested farming in TT 2-3, got 1.8 mill in green mats in 20 mins, assuming 8 hours of farming since I currently HAVE the free time thats 15 mil assuming no ADS drops ever, 8% ADS at 10 mill each = an average of 35 mill a day. average 4 hour playtime would be 15-20. Hmm I used to be able to get 50-70 a day. tis down a lot if I farm anything under 3-2/3-3 then

    Hmmm but correct me if I'm wrong but from what I'm gathering from most of you it seems that wizards are more TW/pvp focused than for PVE situations.

    Even most of the lv 100 skills seem like they're geared for pvp tw. I guess that maybe why I hardly see wizards questing.


    @Thumbs - My mystic is alive and doing well almost lv84 I'm just fiddling with a wizard since I gave up on it.

    Wizards are wanted for Rebirth when the squad leader isn't some idiot that wants to spam WC for half an hour to get a Seeker instead. Unlike Mystic; they don't make the mobs move around on the melee.

    Wizards are also heavily sought for Caster Nirvana, and I'd take one over a sin for any of the BH's.

    i play wiz more since the last updates

    its more fun and cheaper to play than assasin in the new instances

    specifically: AEU, revamped Warsong and Lunar


    im having a harder time playing assasin
    to be correct, its harder to survive.

    both chars are built more defensively than offensively (ok both have 3 vit base tho, and i put about 7 diamond of tiger into sin, but...)


    im ticking like mad on fishie when i do warsong
    a single sacrifical assault water lane mob kills me with the "ducking bubble of suck"
    (so i stopped running ahead)

    tanking the magic immune boss in AEU-2bosses-version is a pain in the butt
    tick tick tick, stun bam tick tick tick OMG OMG tick, cleric stunned again, dead


    the physical immune boss can be tanked without cleric, (just shoot a self heal once in a while or pot), in any case not a single charm tick usually

    the frustrating part is, when you have several aps classes on the phys immune boss too
    they manage to take aggro from me with only demon frostblade damage >.>
    *meh*

    now to the final boss on fish, did you know that boss hits hard?

    wizzie is not tanking, wizzie is not ticking
    a little expel for the nasty birds and np


    back to warsong!
    so many near-death moments, when tanking the bosses! some of them hit like beasts even through bb - at least they die fast

    wizard: lol everyone died on snake
    so imma do this stuff alone.. a self heal once in a while...


    cannon and the black boss hit me 4k through BB o.O wtf
    at least im only pulling and not tanking :D

    fishie: tick tick tick, i wouldnt be able to do this without charm.





    i think with recent changes wizard isnt that bad at all..
    yes you cant spam nirvana
    yes you cant spam TT
    but you can do caster nirvana once in a while
    and you can do warsong, lunar and aeu just fine


    im not sure if you want to put 2~3bil into sin gear
    to farm 2~3bil to get better gear for your wizard o.o

    i like to play many classes, im glad i have a +10 light armor set in my account stash
    so i can play bm and archer just fine with that too
    barb and seeker would be ok with that gear too, if i made them

    i like to adjust my class to the squad needs,
    usually i join a squad on wiz first, then notice they lack DD and go on fish/bm >.>
    fail-squad prevention!





    ----conclusion to the question: is wiz a wise choice as a Main? ----
    yes, doesnt matter

    if you choose to make other chars keep i would suggest making it on a seperate account

    for example

    1. account: arcane main
    2. account: catshop
    3. account: light armor (or just bp, if you make a bm)
    4. account: heavy armor (or just barb buffs)
    5. account: shop#2 / cleric buffs maybe ****optional
    6. account: barb buffs if you made a bm/bm buffs if you made a barb/shop#3 ****optional
