Just wondering what ppl's comp specs are and average fps while playing. This is just to satisfy my curiosity lol

Im sure most ppl know but list cpu gx ram OS speeds and if your using xfire/sli and w/e else you want

    dual core 2.1 GHz processor

    3 gig ram

    Win 7 Home Premium sp1 updated

    hardwired 100 mbps ethernet to 6 meg down DSL modem home network (s*cks)

    lag@ 190 ~ 340 ms normally in low lag spots in game

    17~20 fps w/ Vent, w/o Fraps running in low lag spots in game

    backup is Commodore Vic-20 w/ 4 meg ram pack

    Don't even play my first PC was a Commodore 64! my Grand Pops hooked me up and i thought i was the shiznit. Well that word wasn't created for a decade maybe but i was super cool! Thanks for the memories lol

    15-20FPS with FRAPS in TW.

    Soon to upgrade (next month, latest by mid September)

    z68 MB (still dunno which one, probably just a cheap one)
    300GB HDD
    200GB HDD (for fraps, I heard this will performance way better than 1x 500GB)
    8GB (2x4GB) XMS3 Corsair 1333 RAM
    5850/5870/6850/550 TI (depends which one I can find for cheapest on eBay)
    600/650w PSU

    Currently using:

    Alienware M14x laptop with:

    Intel Core i7 2630QM CPU @ 2.00 GHz, 4 cores/8 logical processors
    Nvidia GT 555M graphics card with 2 DDR ram if I remember right. But I think I mixed some letters around.
    8 GB ram
    500 GB mass storage HDD 7200 rpm
    128 GB boot SSD for booting

    Don't think I'm missing much else. 15-30 FPS in TW, 10 or so in West arch, and 30-60+ elsewhere. This is at most min settings except for a few.

    I got my GTX 550 Ti for 119.00 US at best buy, a steal imo.

    i3 2120 // 6GB ram // 400w PSU // 1TB HDD // 550 Ti // not sure about MoBo, (620 inspiron) like 30-40 fps at west tp on full.

    @Shield *** and D3 will run a lot smoother and better than PWI, due to how not-optimal PWI is. Either that or the amount of polys they use aren't space-friendly.

    Maybe someone can answer this, Shield and Skai have an i7 @ 2.20 and i have a i3 @ 3.30.
    Why is mine more Ghz but a cheaper model?

    *I just went to the Dell site, and i think the answer im looking for is that they're both Laptops lol. If im wrong though please tell!

    Clocking speed doesn't directly equal performance, especially when you're comparing 2 mobile i7s to an i3 that's for desktops.

    Intel Pentium 4 @ 3.33GHz has same clocking speed as i3 2120 but it's still much slower.

    i read on a forum that having fraps record to another HD instead of your main will help with FPS. dont know if its true, i been to buys lately to test it.
    and the 5850 5870 and 6850 is that ati gx cards you are talking about?

    yea. pwi's game engine is not very hardware friendly. at least not to mid-high end hardware.

    its funny when you compare skai's comp to 222's and 222 claims he gets more FPS @ west than Skai

    if anyone wants http://www.piriform.com/download DL speccy and post it back or cpuz/gpuz.
    it just gives more detail info about your comp specs.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the 2630QM have very similar single thread performance to i3 2100? Even though GPU doesn't really play much of a role from the benchmarks I see 550 ti gives around 30% more FPS than the 555m too for most games.

    Also they didn't mention what resolution they play/TW at. If Skai plays at 1080p while 2022 plays at 720p it's probably correct, right?

    yea resolution will make a difference. not sure about intel stuff. i lean towards amd. so id have to do some research on it. and atm im extremely to lazy to do so. hopefully i can coach them back into posting their gameplay resolution and get them to use speccy.b:laugh

    i7 2630QM @ 2.0 Cinebench R10 single thread score : 4557
    i3 2100 (2120 clocks 200mhz faster) R10 Cinebeck single thread score : 5094

    For PWI it looks like Intels are a lot better than AMDs. AMD Quad and Hex cores just about equal the performance of i3 2100 in games optimised for dual core and up. For single thread performance Intel pulls ahead so far in front of AMD. AMD quad+ cores still look better value for money for things that uses a lot of multithreading like video editing.
