    GoF.

In PK the GoF will be more useful.

PvE: You're not using the axes as much as fists in later levels, the GoF helps keep aggro and may overall do more damage. The issue is MAY, if you don't see a lot of zerks, crits, and zerk crits, the G16 will overpower the GoF.

I would value the 40 attack levels over SS.

Depending where youre at and what you're willing to spend, R9 axe alone was the best large investment Ive ever made.

GoF/SS exact proc rate isn't known. Most people consider SS about 15% and GoF 20%. They double individual attacks, and increase your overall dps by that rate so SS is considered a 15% boost to damage.

Attack Levels apply to all damage multipliers except other attack levels. So if you have 0 attack levels currently then G16's 40 attack levels would be a 40% boost. 1 atk level= 1% dps. But, if you have 50 attack levels already going up to 90 attack levels would be only a 26.7% boost. The GoF = 40 attack level point is when you start with 100 attack levels prior to the 40 on the axes, any less and 40 attack levels is better dps wise.

That's not the same in PvP though. 1 attack level =/= 1% damage, it instead means the opponent has 1 less def level resisting your attack because the attack level first cancels out opponent def levels. Also, for charm jumping and the ability to finish a fight GoF might be better in a PvP situation as Michael said.

Overall I'd disagree with Maelael though and say that the larger refine of G16, the increase in overall dps of the attack levels, and the 3rd add-on that you can target to be a damage increasing add would make it better than G15 with GoF or SS.

Saku may be correct here. Other than RB Im not doing a whole lot of overall constant DPH/DPS with axes, I notice that crits, zerks, and zerk crits make up the bulk of my damage/aggro. Id be concerned to lose the zerk.

Likewise, example would be foxes in room 3 of Nirvana. If I zerk/zerk crit/crit I usually down the foxes in 1 hit with R9. I see/hear similar results with people with G15 GoFs. If I do not zerk/etc, I have to follow up with 1 aoe to down them. Without the zerk crit, at 40%...lets say 60% due to refines, bump up would still be two aoes no matter what I would assume.

I really can't think of a place other than RB where constant aoe is in place/needed where those attack levels should statistically consistently outperform GoF.
