I will agree that having more HP to work with gives a lot more margin for error, and is nice.

With all gear refined to +5/+6, hp sits at about 4200 w/o barb buff. Most of the parts in caster vana that cause issues for people involve physical attacks (fatemeddlers, "can you dodge my hit" boss, etc) I invested into pdef more than hp, which helps with those I guess.

In my experience, the nightmare squads were cause more by a lack of dd strength, vs hp/armor. Fourth boss seems to do it's attack more frequently the longer you let it survive, and the final boss will wipe you no matter what your hp is at if you don't get him down in time. Going in with only +2 on your wep is going to make you more of a liability to the squad, than having +2/+3 on your gears.

Again, that's just in my experience, and some classes/players can offset baser gear better than others.

It took me average ~350 mirages each to get all my r9 pieces to +7 with the help of maybe 100 event gold worth of refine aids. If it really takes you 20 refine aids and 300 mirages for +4... just quit... i mean really... just freaking quit the game and save yourself the embarrassment.

It's kinda nice being one of the few that requests "tank" in WC. I have yet to get a fail BM, Archer, Seeker, or whatever to get the job done for us. Not that I don't love a good barb, it's just funny to see all the ignorant WC requests.

2X seems to bring out the low-geared to run Caster Nirvy. I was in one random squad and the cleric was using an Aquadash... didn't go well - but during non-2x it seems that only the serious casters do Caster and things go much better. As far as physical vs elemental/-chan ornaments/gear, I have two complete sets on my Wizzy. I use the +mag/-chan set for the first 2 bosses, switch to phys def for bosses 3 & 4, then switch back to +mag/-chan for the last boss. This works quite well for me. Also, a note to Venos - please use your pets on the adds, especially foulbender on the last boss. Every shot I shoot to kill him is a shot that doesn't hit the boss. A veno I run Caster on quite often keeps her Herc parked in manual and when Foulbender spawns will send him against it and kill it quite quickly.

..your telling me....anyway you understand why I dont hold much chop to refining with mirages......it sucks.

And lordmot I dont think 2x "brings out" the low geared so to speak, but during 2x there are so many more nirvanas going on that the low geared are allowed to come along (I lol'd at your siggy too)

As yet I've never been on a Nirvana, I'll prolly only get to 4900hp in a few days so you guys have all made me worried now

Don't worry... 4900 HP is enough... The actual minimum required is 4500 HP so... Just make sure you got some decent attack and overall defense as well... b:cute

you are 100. its easy as pie to get mirages faerie box. jump in tt once in a while. if not bh reward 55 mirage. I get at least 1 set of 55 mirages a week. and 140 mirages i can already +4 or 5 something without any refine aid and that's on regular basis. it is way better than spending coins on over priced d.orb.

idk where u died. but there was once when I was asked to come to a tt 3-2 right when i log in. i forgot to put on gear for my cleric and she had 3k~ hp with jsut r8 top and nothing else except the r8 weap and squad didnt wipe nor did i die after ward im just like o shiet ._.' i forgot to put on gear woops. so yeah skill can get u so far but i agree u need to have the hp to back it up.

No 2x atm, and just got out of a low geared run. It made me remember why I was trading talis for mirages for so long. I think only a cleric had over 5k hp (not by much), and there was a wiz with 4.3. There was whining about no one sparking by the worst of them (must have had settings down) .

Well after my nightmare caster i thought it would be fun to report back on all the epic fails ive had this week that i can remember.

--Do Rb3 and everyone dies on third wave well i'm standing there alone with 20 mobs on my face for 4mins. Kind of proud of myself for lasting that long lol. I kept them back as long as i could so rest could respawn but we lost that run b:sad

--Do a lunar where many of the people aren't geared for it. Ends up taking awhile to get to the boss. Then because SQ lead payed for run we do the big fish boss at the end. Everything is going alright till again the boss kills everybody but me. So again im alone fighting the big fish. It was funny at one point they were like wheres Ian. Then i hear oh sh*t type response " Hes still killing the boss. Got that bloody thing to half health but couldn't kill it alone because of its health regen. After 30mins on boss we give up.

--Do Fire and end up standing there alone again taking on least 5 mobs and killing them. Someone called me a Pro Psy after that one b:chuckle

That's just a few of the major things that failed this week for me. But also ive ran into some really great players who had lower gear but kicked butt because they knew what they were doing. Sadly i cant say the same for many of the others ive ran into with lower gear. God knows i can be a noob too sometimes but what bothers me most is people who dont seem to have a clue how to play at lvl 100+ . Aside from all that thanks too all the great players who have helped and take care allb:byeb:victory
