    well, technically it is possible to go into the database and edit the data to change a faction name.

    BUT, getting a GM to actually do that is not likely to happen unless there is some kind of violation.

    It's usually easier to just start a new faction with the new name and move everyone over.

    Even then I don't think they do that, Sylen. Given I heard of multiple factions with offending names who were forced to disband...

    This. I've heard that wayyyyy back when (before I was playing in all likelihood) they offered name changes in certain circumstances but it really messed with the database. As such they no longer offer them and won't for the foreseeable future.

    As other's have said no.

    One of my friends' factions I've been apart of for a long time had an issue that could have been solved with a renaming but gms made us start a new faction.

    The issue was the name had symbols in it ** on either side of the name. Because of those we could not get a logo, took a long time to learn this after seeing other factions getting logos approved but not ours. Then they finaly tell us why, and nope they wouldn't rename we had to start a new faction. And keep in mind too this was probably 2 years ago when gms where a lot more active.

    No, you'll need to restart from scratch, make sure the name does not have any special symbols in it if you want to upload an icon in the future. (stuff like * and ~ will keep you from uploading faction icons)

    As everyone said, no. It is not possible or allowed at the time to have your faction name changed, and if you would like a different name you would have to create a new faction.
