r9r2 b:bye
just post what level u are / want the axes to be for and the budget0 -
TT90 Gold are excellent axes for AOEing, and some PvPing.
But...it really depends how long you plan to keep them or stay in your 90's. G13 and G15 Nirvana kinda sorta outclass them, especially G15 with Zerk.
Dragonhunts are a good holder-axes till you can get Nirvana or better. R8 is really nice, R8r is nicer, and of course R9 is preferred.
If I had to do it all over again, I would not have gotten TT90 Golds. I flew through my 90s doing duo/trio FFs and full group power runs 5 times a night (30 mins tops a run with the last run being a full).
So as Zetsumie explained, it comes down to your budget. Good axe damage is very nice for FF, but it's not a huge factor of necessity as much as GVs and Deicides. I'd add that it depends how fast you level and what your plan at 100 is as well.
EDIT:
I also keep forgetting about the Morai Axes. They're damn good damage for PVE. I would have went for these personally until I could afford better if they were out during my 90s. If I did not have a set of +10 TT90 Golds, I would be using Morai Axes on my Barb.
Dragonhunts are a good option if you plan to upgrade them to Nirvana.
Otherwise you could easily get away with Morai Axes flat out in PVE until you go for R8r or R9 or G15 Nirvana Zerk axes.pwcalc.com/bb6fc16982637a5c / pwcalc.com/28948ee5778526f50 -
I gotta agree with Malael. I recently swapped from +5 tt90 gold axed to morai G15. Even unrefined those axes do a lot more damage. If you don't care about pvp, those things are beyond awesome.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I have TT 90 golds +4 on my BM and do love them. Yes, they are a BIT(b:chuckle) outdated but the damage on them is still nice. Depending on how much I love my BM, I'll either go R9 or G16 nirvana though.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Thank you Silvychar for my siggy0 -
I would say for PvP TT90 gold are prolly only outclassed by R9 or G15 Nirvana.
For PvE they are outclassed by a ton of things, lol. R8, Morai G15, TT100, I'm guessing even the Morai G12 would out dd them with decent refines and those are completely free.
The best bang for your buck for PvE is Morai, though. They cost 17m and compete with damage with R9 (think about 5-10% less). Because how slaying levels work, the more attack levels you have the more effective slaying levels are, so it depends on your blessing of choice and other gear.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. ok well as you didn't bring up r9 I'll leave it out an go for cheap and cheerful, having played BM as main for what seems an age this is how i see it:
1st thing to consider is what your gonna be doing there is a whole range of weaps some stronger in certain area's some less so im breaking it down into the 3 main use's PVE, TW and PK
PVE
consistent good damage is key cheapest for this are the morai weapons slayer lvls + a jonas or even o'mally and you'll do regular good damage so their pretty much my top tip
build is also relevant so
high str/vit build with low crt% aim for dual axe's as these have best top end atck or r8
high str/dex with decent crit% I'd personally go dual hammers, poleaxe/hammer or r8 these have better min atck which is what crits is based off according to offical pwi wikki
as for bonus stats zerk is nice, regain hp (oht weapons have) or atck lvl but simple stat adds are fine for pve tbh
TW
ok breath and stay calm, here your damage ain't relay that important. Still with me? cool you job in TW is to get ppl killed not so much do the killing. You do this by de buffing ppl and staying alive long enough to de buff ppl again.
As kills in TW are a nice bonus to ur job rather than main focus you want to be looking at what bonus stats ur weapon has, ulti weap here for me would be a recast r8 with deff lvl vit and Thundershock ofc failing that look for weapons with nice stat bonuses and proc for increasing survivability or de buffing every1 caught up in ur AoE's
survival= Faith, chi sheild, hp regain or deff lvls
debuff = stun, weaken, armour break, freeze and best been Thundershock on a r8r (purge is funny but not reliably gonna proc as much or ever in a TW)
PK
Here how much you hit for dose count so again look at ur stats high str and hp +lower crits go dual axe's for the spike, higher crit% go for dual hammers/poleaxe for the high min atck to maxamise ur crit dam ( dual g15 hammers with Gof and pos +crit% be the dream )
TT90 are fine as introduction but with more and more ppl gettin G15 or betr gear u wanna look at gettin nirvana axe's or r8
bonus adds, its all about killing so zerk adds or debuff ur opponent ads are 1s to go for as you wont normally be running at 50+ ppl like in TW deffensive adds are nice bt nt as high priority as attacking 1s
lastly
ofc r9 if you can get im not going to down talk and with T3 nirvana you have nice options EG once you get the moulds either of the g16 options would b suitable for all 3 of the above. Untill then my money would be a decent g15 nirvana or a tt90/99 grn with defensive add for TW/ casual pk+ freebie axe from morai for pve or regular r8 as an all rounder0 -

Source? Can you send me to this information?
Crit is just a double of your previous attack. So say you have axes with a range of 3k-7k it can double any attack in there. It might be a 3k attack being doubled, it might be a 7k attack being doubled. Hammer's have a narrower range but the same average so something like 4500-5500 and a crit can be anywhere in that range.
That's why 1% crit represents about 1% more damage output.
It really is a personal preference for whether you prefer consistant damage or a wide range of damage. For the axe and spear classes I think the wide range weapons are better choices for spike damage. This is what allows us to surprise our opponents and jump a charm, or to single hit a kiting squishy. For cleric's they'd prefer a weapon with more constistant damage because that's what heals are based off of and you want more reliable heals.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. you may be right Sakubatou,
I'm nt sure which guide it was under as was read back wen 1st rolling a toon however i'm still pretty sure that was how it read and will keep looking. Tho i still think it holds up from playin about with oht fists and claws ( yes I made purely for the looks nt for real use ) and consistently getting higher crits from the fists that have the betr min atck .
That aside its worth looking at pragmatically even if im wrong and my test with claws/fists was a fluke on a crit build i'd still go for betr min damage on ur weapon, using http://pwcalc.com/ba1e2ae07c7e9902 as an example of a reasonable EG bm who's had some luck lets say he also has a +10 g15 TT nirvy dual axe's (6703-11194 p.Atk ) and the g15 TT nirvy dual hammers ( 7825-10071 p.atk ) and fights a r8 sin with 12k hp 2x once with each weapon and finds his damage for arguments sake 20% of those values
Axe's= 1340-2238 hp hit for normally, so 2680-4274 on a crit
Hammers = 1565-2014 hit normally, and 3130-4028 on a crit
now these values ain't unrealistic & when you add zerks into the mix axe would be 5.1k-8.5k and hammers would be 6.2k-8k, and i prefer to work from worst case damage the above example a bottom end hit with axe's and crit zerk + HF would of hit the sin for 10720, the hammers 12520 thats 2k(ish) diff were top end diff 17096 axe vs 16112 hammer= less than 1k. I'd take what will kill over what might, but thats just my opinion. pve ofc isn't effected by the 75% pvp damage nerf so these values would go even higher.
Now ofc the less dex you stat and put into str the bettr the top end damage on the axe's comp to hammer will be yet so too will the bottom end damage get betr on the hammers comp to the axe. I personally think at EG its more about regular good damge and "bursting" down targets and by "burst" i mean using self buff or target de-buffs to maximise damage out put for a short period (e.g. spark/HF or Frenzy/Tangle mire ) then spamming skills. this ofc is for a more str/dex build as its higher crit rate and acc so you'll be hitting more and critting more.
Burst vs spike is ofc a personal choice but spike seems to depend on too many variables, did u get top end damage did it crit, will it zerk.0
