I was wondering...if im not getting r9 but can afford r8 with low refines (+5 - +7-8) would Pangu axe be a good option for a cata barb? (not for top factions tws ofc)

the question is totally tw - cata pulling oriented taking in consideration that u gotta get luck to get sexi r8 recast adds, that im aming for getting the full nirvy set before investing time in a r8 recast or get the nirvy weapon and Pangus shield effect.

thanks in advance

If you aint going r9 or r8 recast and you want something cheap, pan gu is very nice.

However, please note pan gu haves a chance to proc, I dislike "chances" as a cata barb, I need things I can 100% rely into.

That being said, If you can afford +7 refines on R8 I think you could afford a nirvy weapon with -20 requirement and +vit or +hp or +def level.

So if I were you, Id pick a dragonhunt. It adds a very nice chunk of HP and the extra range helps more than most barbs think. So when you can afford you can just upgrade it into nirvy and voila.

P.s: It may be really worth it getting a r8 recast axe, its over 20% chance to get 10+ def levels and just 10 def levels is a lot better than any of those axes.

P.s.s: If you get +str on the nirvy axe dont restat it into vit, reason is: seekers and bms can disarm you, thus making ur armor go red (if you depend on the str to wear it)

PGGA procs somewhere around 15% of the time while you are attacking... How often do you really attack when pulling a cata?

When considering PGGA I'd consider it like it didn't have the chi shield. So really you are looking at an axe that gives you 14-15 vitality and 205 hp. That's decent, but not real great for a cata axe.

I think you shouldnt refine your armour past +5 until you can afford to recast your r8 weapon cause you could come out lucky and get high def lvl. Otherwise refine your armour higher and get pan guu

You need to be watching your damage, and who is hitting on you, and managing your genie/apoth when you pull cata. Personally I don't think you should be worrying about attacking targets, you should concentrate on getting into position and hiding in the cata. The rest of the squad/faction is supposed to be killing what gets near you.

I went R8 and back when it was still possible for my R8 +5 behind to pull cata .I bought a second R8 weapon and sharded it with Citrines for extra HP, just to wear for pulling cata.

Whatever gives you the most defense is what you wear to pull cata - HP / VIT most likely.

I wear OHT magic rings with VIT on them, refined for mag def. And a genie loaded for defense, with mag charms to speed up the regen. More More More defense.

That doesn't have to be what you wear the rest of the time, but make yourself a set of gear to swap in for TW time.

thanks for the tip I took a look to the dragonhunt the thing is that if getting r8 recast with def lvl is just better I may work on that and keep the pangu until I finish the nirvy set.

Well I made and used this barbie as a bank and just lvled a couple of months back so my exp. in cata pulling is :X ....I don't attack anyone but aoe/attack the towers to get chi a bit faster and thought that having that extra shield would be a +

this is my current set http://pwcalc.com/1b6f1a62ef1b8423 going to work on the gear fist to have more survivability

@Redmenace well...tbh the ornaments are the last thing on my list but yeah I totally want to get mag def. ones and was thinking just like you on having two sets and genies for tw

Thanks all for your inputs gais <3

    Its not unequipping.
    Its disarming.
All the weapon effects and stats are disabled. (so if you need that +str to wear armor its bye bye, tested it already)

Bm skill = Blade Hurl (morai)

Seeker One = duelist glee + arme nier combo.
