Some good points in the video, but a number of mistakes as well (at least imo).
I don't think clerics should be constantly undined, undine should be reserved for when you are going for the kill. The main reason for this is because undine gives no chi and is not a control skill. If you aren't able to one shot the cleric with an undine gush, you would probably be better off with any other skill where you gain some chi or have a desirable effect (i.e. hailstorm/pitfall for effect, gush if those were on cooldown). Obviously if you know you are about to sutra or go for a bypass, by all means.. but most of this video was wasted undine imo (especially @ 4:07 when she just used guardian light, not much of a chance of going for a kill when she is taking 60% less damage).
I cannot think of a reason for the fortify @ 3:07, made no sense to me
I think the BT at 3:35 was a poor choice, she had recently sage sparked and still had the 25% dmg reduction from it. I dont know what kind of hp she has, but in most cases you'd be better off to save your sleep BT till she doesn't have that 25% reduction. If you were just trying to force her to kite, perhaps sleep MS would have stopped her from attacking while she was still 3x sparked.
I really think you'd improve your pvp by using hotkeys instead of moving your mouse over to click on skills. It improves your reaction time and in world pvp frees up your mouse to look around more.
Pdef/Mdef charms are very useful, if you can't afford a bunch of them throughout pvp, at least when she triple sparks or you are close to half you can use them to significantly increase your chances at surviving (although it was apparently unnecessary in this video, they will help against better clerics). You also never used any apoth, which could have ended those fights much sooner (i.e. zooming thunder BT or MS as one example) or improved your suvivability.
You mentioned that you think that sage wizards would have alot of trouble with clerics because of a lack of control skills, but I couldn't disagree more. Different playstyles, and I (sage) have a lot more chi to work with when looking for ways to take down a cleric than you do :P It is nothing to me to use 4 sparks with a sutra MS combo, because I know I can build it back in no time, demon has to be much more conservative with chi xD Sage doesn't rely as much on control skills as a demon mage does.
Lastly, the cleric you fought was a horrid example, she wasted her defensive outs when she wasn't in trouble and seemed to have no plan of attack to either bypass you or out dps your charm. You can't expect most clerics to just button smash in pvp, I would have much preferred to see a cleric that knew what he/she was doing while you describe how to counter/kill them.
Just so it doesn't seem like this entire post is/was criticism, I liked that you were using your demon control skills as opposed to just random pyro/gush when you could, and sleep + debuffs + BT is a great way to bypass a cleric's charm. I love seeing people use hp pots as well, and the little bit of kiting I saw is also refreshing (too many people like to stand there and die honorably or something lol).

FINALLY another commentary.
And YAY Adroit's back.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Part of it probably has to do with the fact that my wizard's damage is nerfed by ~10-15% as it's got 104 strength which is why it's harder for me to kill than more other wizards regardless of cultivation.
The reason I like to keep clerics undined is just if I see a window of opportunity that I can use to sutra spark or BT spark then I don't need to use up a second or undine them. Also I found my damage to be quite low without undine and cannot force the cleric into using AD/apoth without it and thus as you mentioned dare not BT or go for a kill combo that requires a lot of chi.
The clip was from 2-3 months ago and I was not aware that fortify did not immune against sleep b:cry but I realise fortify only immune against stun now.
To be fair I did use the two shortest clips I had as our bouts were over 10 minutes long each with all that sleep and kiting. I did not really choose the clips on quality.
p.s where's a new pvp video b:angry0 -

Loved the video keep em coming haha
@Adroit - welcome back!
@both of you - I like constantly using undine because most clerics stop to purify themselves, which is one less attack they use on you making it easier to set up whatever way in which you wish to finish the fight.0 -

Some PK vids, please[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Thank you Silvychar for my siggy0 -
@Hurrdurr - I suppose there is an argument where you want them to be constantly undined so that you can act upon an opportunity that much quicker, but there were several uses where you didn't even have 2 sparks (where even if the opportunity arose you wouldn't have the chi to finish it), so I'd still argue that undine was heavily overused in the video. Against a real cleric, just ticking their charm with undine + random skills isn't going to require the use of apoth/genie, and now we are back to me wanted to see pvp against a more competent opponent. Overall it was still pretty good, just in my nature to pick at the little things that bug me :P
@RebeI - a cleric that purifies every undine is bad. It doesn't take a genius to realize that constantly purifying undine is going to be a massive chi drain for the duration of the fight, and will be (or is) unsustainable. Chances are that a cleric that plays like this won't be much of a challenge anyway, as its a telltale sign of an inexperienced cleric.
I *MIGHT* make more pvp videos in the not too distant future, but atm I'm getting help from a friend to gear up (he lured me back w/ the promise of real gear).. so fingers crossed I won't be the 5k hp mage too much longer b:victoryYoutube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

Demon purify costs no chi.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I was thinking sage for some reason (maybe b/c my ep is sage), but you're right. Either way though, the same principle applies.. the cleric isn't gaining anything from purifying an undine.. the cooldown and cost of undine is nearly nonexistent (some mana lol).. so it'd be just a back and forth where the mage could essentially "force" (using that term losely) the cleric to do nothing while the mage waits on cooldowns or whatever they want (i.e. undine -> purify -> undine -> purify -> etc etc to buy time). Obviously any non brain-dead cleric will realize this is a waste of time, and quickly learn to deal with undine in other ways. Which again brings me back to being a sign of an inexperienced cleric.. it only takes one mage that wants to buy some time to "cure" the cleric of wanting to purify every undine that gets casted on them.Youtube Channel: youtube.com/user/D2VeT/videos?flow=grid&view=0

haha a friend lured me back, just recently got 3rd cast nv wep, cube neck, and warsong belt.. next 2x I should have full set of +7 3rd cast nv armors Then we'll work towards +10 etc. So yeah, one of the main reasons I quit was because it would be more effort than it was worth to farm gears to become competitive again.. but I've always wanted to see what having real gear felt like in pk haha (and now it might actually happen).
