Can't connect to the server

Whenever I try to connect it just timeouts on 40's, all the servers can't be pinged and are ---- any tips on how to fix this? Tried checking all of the ports disabling antivirus firewall reinstalling updating verifying creating a new account.

    First check your bandwidth(Net Speed) http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/.
    Perform a traceroute to the pwi servers, Post the copy of your traceroute that might help to diagnose your problem in a better way !

    How to Perform traceroute ?

    1) In XP, click on Start > click on Run > type in "cmd"
    2) On this screen type in (exactly as it is typed here): tracert pwieast1.perfectworld.com (You can use any of the IP addresses to our servers listed below. Try several.)
    Please note there is a space between "tracert" and "pwieast1.perfectworld.com"
    3) Wait for the traceroute to complete.
    4) Right Click on the window
    5) Select the "Select all" option
    6) Hit "Enter"
    7) You will now be able to paste the text into your reply.

    Im having same problem tried all servers im on a speed is 54.0mbps (im sat vertually next to my modem), my isp is vergin media

    Your trace is clean, so it's more likely that there's something on your system preventing the client from getting through on the port. )Usually the firewall). Finish your updates, reboot, and try again. if it still doesn't work, then check that elementclient.exe is allowed in your firewall rules.

    fineshed them restarted worked fine staopped playing for 2 houres when i tried again it wouldnt connect and this elementclient.exe is on my firewall exeptions list

    Im having the same problem:
    Got a dc after a bit of playing, after that i was unable to log in again.
    The US East and Europe servers dont give me any trouble at all when it comes to connecting, but all of the West ones give me a timeout after 20 secs and the message unable to connect to server

    Please restart your PC and network hardware.

    You must be on a Windows Admin account, or have Run as Admin access to be able to download, install, update, and run the game.

    You can try adding the game folder/files to your exceptions list in your antivirus and firewall software. Please see the help menu or support website for the software that you use if you aren't sure how to do it.

    At your own risk, you may have to disable your antivirus, firewall, and other security software temporarily while you download, install, update, login to, and play the game. Sometimes the security software will block it no matter what you try or even if you try to add exceptions for the game files in your security software.

    You may also have to disable, shut down, uninstall, or disable any: torrent, keyboard/mouse, web browser toolbars, video/screen capture, gamepad/input device, multimedia, Instant Messaging, voice over IP, web browser games, other games software applications before downloading, installing, updating, logging into, and playing the game. Basically shut down all non-essential programs.

    Stop any processes that may be interfering with the networking and causing issues with your connection.

    After you get the game updated and get in game, you can uninstall Pando Media Booster or shut it down (PMB.exe in Windows Task Manager) if you start getting unusual lag spikes, system resource problems, bandwidth issues, or other network issues.

    Try this out first if the problem still occurs then post it with more details !

    ok, did everything that i found on EVERY forum related to this stuff. Seems like most of the problem occurs in us servers east. I even uninstalled ALL ani-virus and firewall software and did a manual freeze of all windows based firewall software. All patchers and client set as admin auto runs. WOuld be nice to see a real reason where an answer is found. and i do understand that if EVERYONE isnt disconnected then its not a server issue BUT almost everyone i play with on the east server is getting dc EVERY TIME they play. hmmmmm. anyone come up with a real answer yet? Maybe one of the companies you pay to rout us to your servers is failing? anything. Tired of spending real money at crazy low exchange rates and cant even play.b:sad

    If you can post a traceroute at the time you're having the issue and information on your home network, how your PC is connected, and your basic ISP info, then I can help. Or at least help you narrow down the issue.

    Unfortunately, until you provide that information, I can't offer any solutions that I haven't posted a hundred times already.

    Additionally, instead of necroing a thread, start your own, and provide the information that I, and others, are constantly asking for.

    I'm having the same problem as the 1st post, no server info and ping, no server connects at all.
    tried to add a rule my firewall and nothing really worked

    anyone else having the issue of disconnecting from lost city? i know they fixed some stuff yesterday but i still am not allowed to connect. as soon as i connect 30 seconds later i get disconnected. have tried everything

    ummmm why doesnt the lost city server show up on my choices of servers. what the hell i connect to it and then nothing are there certain settings that my router should have?
