Some model files that was added with the latest patch are broken:

models\weapons\人物\匕首\法宝\20品法宝\tcks_20品法宝\流殇_施放起_女.stck
models\weapons\人物\匕首\法宝\20品法宝\20品法宝.ecm
models\weapons\人物\匕首\法宝\20品法宝\20品法宝.bon
models\weapons\人物\匕首\法宝\20品法宝\20品法宝.smd

all these files contains NULL bytes which make them unreadable for the client!

the following fix will replace some of the corrupted files with some older files from client 583

1. Shut down the running client

2. Download the fixed files here

3. Extract the content of the archive (models.pck.files, fix.bat, sPCK.exe) to
.\Perfect World International\element (there should be a models.pck in that path)

4. Execute fix.bat to replace the broken files with the fixed files

5. Delete the fix files (models.pck.files, fix.bat, sPCK.exe)

6. Start the client and enjoy the r8 recast soulsphere

*don't worry about corruption on future patches by pwi, these files will automatically be replaced when pwi release their own fix :)
**editing client files is against ToS so do it on your own risk !!!

    It's really sad, that fix to this issue have to come from players and not from original patch sources(game).

    Is there a way that you can do it so that it works for those people that DLed bubbles' login fix? the one that makes the weapon DC surrounding people....

    restore the elemnts.data file which you have backuped before replacing with the one from bubbles

    It doesn't matter what kind of fix you use.

    A psychic who can log on with their r8 recast weapon will always be able to d/c others until there is an official patch for it.
    It doesn't matter what fix you use, the only thing that can fix the d/c issue is a global patch for everyone.

    As for this fix, the op made a fix using a tool that has to ability to open up packs and modify them.

    I won't go into too much detail about it but it's pretty much a bat file utilizing a tool that can allow you to edit files if you know the right command. I would advise against giving the general public a tool to do this. Granted most people who see it won't even know what spck is, but all it takes is a simple google search and they can learn all they need to know about editing pck files.

    The file the op has proved is one pck editor tool, a bat file with a command in it, and what appears to be the older model files.

    You would've been better off making your own patch file instead of giving out spck.

    thank you bubbles for comming up with a fix before pwi got around to it! now thats it fixed lets see if we all get our compensation of if was just hot air
