On R9 third cast

Ok, so, before I make this my very-very-very-very-long-term goal, there's one thing I'd like to know from one of the few people who already have the R9 second forge: does it require chienkuns to transfer from 2nd to 3rd cast? If so, does it cost chienkun to transfer sockets as well (wouldn't make sense, imo, but never doubt PW's nonsenses)

I know it doesn't cost chienkun from 1st to 2nd, but that upgrade is quite lame and not worth it, imo, unless someone is going for the third cast, with much better stats/adds. Since I'm still VERY far from the r9 recast, before I even go there I'd like some info on that - whether or not I should +12 my stuff before going third cast and stuff like that.

Does anyone here have reliable info on that?

    If I remember correctly, there is a chienkun cost for r9 as well on third cast. Someone SS'd the cost for +12 r9 with 4 sockets and sharded with JoSD and it was around 800 stones total.

    Iirc it was something like 1950 used to transfer 4 sock +12

    Before you make it your long term goal:

    By the time I farmed enough Wraith Eyes from VoS; the boot value had dropped from almost 200m to 20m. -I can make 20m in a day now, and coin has a much lower value. Other boots that came out after I started would have made me as happy (Nirvana Second Tier). I have over 19000 wraith eyes and already have the boots. -I have no use for the eyes anymore. These items are for the people that just gotta have the best right now. ~6 months and things change.

    830 chienkuns for 1 r9 armor piece +12 with 4 JoSD. I don't know if 830 was the exact number, but it was in the low 800's. There's a SS of it on the forums somewhere.

    my suggestion is to trash whatever refinements and gems you have from r9r to r9rr, not only since the chienkun costs are high, but also since you are not sure whether you plan on keeping that intial r9rr roll. but after you see your initial roll, you may or may not consider using chienkuns on rerolls, because maintaining refines and gems on a reroll doesnt cost that much.

    How much is the chienkuns cost for just the re-roll to retain refine, socket and gems on a weapon? I can't find anything on it. I was worried it was going to be the same cost as the initial 3rd cast :(

    As a side note it is cheaper to re-refine all your gear and re-socket for the most part. Unless you have jades in all your gear and a sale like the current one is on for Chienkun's then you are better off doing all your gear from scratch. Another tip is to not refine your weapon to high until you are comfortable with the stats on it. +10 is 30 stones on a re-roll whereas +12 is 100.
