Due to the closure of one of Perfect World servers

As most will be aware, Perfect World Malaysian server closed 2 days ago.
Many people with English speaking characters have been made homeless.
This is due to a contract directly with Perfect World Co, which owns Perfect World International, being revoked by PW Co and given to another company, who can not at this time host English characters.
Seeing PW Co is partly responsible for this and PWI is a wholely owned subsidiary of PW Co, I believe it would be in PW Co and the Chinese business communities best interest, to SAVE FACE, by offering PW Malaysian English clients an account transfer to PWI at a small administration cost.
Once this hits gaming forums and the entire gaming community hears that PW Co will not back its customers either directly or indirectly, Perfect World, no matter what the brand will be seriously effected. All the way back up to PW Co. Its time PW Co put there hand out to those that gave them the opportunity to branch out into the English world, as we all know the Malaysian server was the first English speaking PW server created.

if they want to continue using these names, they will be required to take all the refugees from PW-MY

Are your account names different for the two accounts? Do they use different emails? Then you shouldn't have to worry about them being overwritten.

If one of the two is the same between both accounts, you might have problems.

I wouldn't mind the influx of players but I doubt PWI has the rights to that client data.

Still there should be some incentive to get these orphans on board.

What i can gather from the message "concerned" wrote, is the license is owned by PW in China, whom also own PWI. So PW China can claim the contract for the English players and take care of them because it seems the new owners can't speak English well. At worst they would only have to buy the player information, i think.

They must have known that this was going to happen, so why did they wait til the last minute?

Ah here comes the truth of it:

"On the other hand; we would like to thank you for all the supports and contributions of those who have given to us all these years to make it a successful game."

It was "the supports and contributions" that they would have lost if they had a single honorable bone in their body to tell their clients what was about to happen.

The clients got screwed over. There shouldn't be an administration fee whatsoever to transfer peoples' accounts if they so wished it.

Talk about shifty business practices.

It should have been up to the company that held the license (Perfect Star Co) to inform the people that they lost the license prior to being ordered by Perfect World Co. they had to shut down.

What amazes me is that they knew the licenses was going to expire!!!! Lets take a little closer look at one part of their poorly and short apology. One thing should stand out to all and that is this, "This is because the licensing period for the game had expired and it is then awarded to another local game publishing company for a higher bidding value."

Now I ask is this something that will happen over night? Is this something that will happen in a day or 2? How about 1 week? I THINK NOT. They knew this was coming and should have given every english speaking player a prior notice that this might happen. Maybe a few months in advanced with an account transfer to another server for free for those that were there prior to the notice. And for those that would that joined after the notice provide them an account transfer to another server for a small fee.

But now after seeing that they have allowed such a thing to happen with poor advanced notice I believe they should provide an account transfer for everyone (from old players to new player that may have just joined) left homeless at the moment with out their char's and have to remake them. Just for the fact of poor notification and poor management in this situation.

This was Perfect Star Co shortfall not Perfect World Co. Perfect World Co couldn't have told the players of the impending shutdown any more then they could here.

awwwww i started playing pw on that server for a while because it was english speaking but then i left when pwi came along so this is really sad for me. I always been meaning to go back because i remember players on there were always so nice and helpful- i really hope something can be done. =[

ooh it was grand warlords taking over oracle the nice drama and overall why i come to lost city when server opened b:cry.

i always remember one of the old players who was archer adn one barb on wc talking smack.

overall ppl were freandly and nice it was nice


i also remember how i learned what ppl called broken inglish as ingrishb:chuckle

Sorry, but PW Malaysia has nothing to do with PWI and the Chinese versions, which are the only two versions that are allowed to be discussed on the forums as they are closely related. I have to close this topic now.
