Closing threads, declaring "necro" and moving threads from general view

If a thread is posted with a reasonable and polite request for an update on promises made, or a response to a valid query, why is it that the thread is allowed to be trolled, criticised as QQ ing and eventually closed out by forum Mods when the reason that it has degenerated to that point is that no one has had the courtesy or guts to respnd in a proper manner?

Declaring a thread as being a necro on the grounds that several months later Frankie has still not had the manners to respond is ridiculous.

A large amount of threads on here are asking for answers and definitive updates on valid matters. Yet time and again the same few angry people who seem incapable of reading correctly, ASSUME that people are whining that the game is too easy, too hard or that they want something free.

Why not read what the poster is actually asking for before jumping on the hate bandwagon.

Furthermore, suggesting that people are locked out simply because they point out the complete lack of customer service is both petty and dictatorial. If people got responses to their queries, they may not like the answers, but at least it would demonstrate that someone somewhere cared enough to take notice of what was asked.

All too often any form of response is from the player base who guess, surmise, and estimate some sort of response, many in an attempt to help but some in an offhand "stop QQ'ing" way.

The irony is that they are actually QQing about people "qq ing"

Before posting some knee jerk hateful response, locking a thread, moving it, declaring it as a "necro", or blocking an OP so you dont have to deal with their issues, try reading what they are asking and ask yourself... was that an unreasonable question or request?

That thread about the password reset was a necro. You can make new threads if the topic you were asking the question about would be necroed, and then link the old thread. What you can't do is demand answers to why threads were closed in the general discussion, etc. That's why this one will be closed. The mods don't make the rules, they just enforce the ToS. It's not a big deal really, just follow the rules really. Don't feed trolls, and chances are there won't be excessive flaming. Don't post in a thread whose last reply was more than 30 days old, just make a new thread and then link the old one.

BTW a necro is any thread whose last reply was over a month ago. It's not declared a necro arbitrarily, every thread has a time stamp.

Because you're dealing with a playerbase that acts in a manner befitting an elementary school brat that throws fits because someone else has better stuff than they do.

If the OP doesn't care enough about their thread to bump it once a month to keep it out of necro territory, which is insanely easy, then it often deserves to be closed and depthed if it's replied to 5 months later. Its a common forum rule, and the mods are just doing their job.

You said it yourself. A LARGE amount of threads asking the SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER. Often when 2 or 3 similar threads are already on the first page. When 9/10 of these threads are indeed whining over silly things and there's 10 on the front page, is it so wrong to assume that the last one isn't whining as well?

See the previous block of color. If there's 10 threads about this on the first page, it's better not to post ANOTHER to split any sort of attention they'd get between them all and instead shuffle all of those with the issue into one place.

    So...you're QQing about people QQing?

    QQception.

Perhaps you should try learning the hassle it is to be a mod, learning the definition of necro, or...well, blocking someone is kind of a dumb move, I agree. But as I said, 10 threads on the front page on the same issue tends to get unreasonable real fast.

We mods have a job to do, and we don't get paid for it, we just enforce the forum rules, One of them being any thread over 30 days since the last post is declared a necro.

Very rarely does Frankie close a thread necro, we usually do that.

As for this thread, It's going to have to be closed.
