You know... It wouldn't surprise me. However, I believe PWI was running DX9.0 before hand. In the Decent expansion, they threw on the 9.0c update. I don't think PWI ever was run on DX8.0

I only noticed something was wonky when i couldn't get ssao to work with the game any longer, among other eye candies I've enjoyed since Descent's launch. Something got changed. I assumed engine reversion first because...well its wanmei. They never make sense.
