    You are right,I read further into it and the source I looked at first had the dates mixed up. As for discussing history, I am generally good at it,but I do make mistakes. I'm not touchy about our history,but like you I prefer it when people get it right.

    True True, but in truth talking of WW2 is kinda silly, it's history, not a fairy tale, at the time some people thought that Hitler was good, even blessed, some not, in Croatia the Ustashes supported Hitler, just as the Domobranci in Slovenia, and Mussolini in Italy, even part of the french were leaning on approval of Hitler's ways, in the end in all countries lines of rebels started appearing, which were at the time considered on the same lines as terrorists today, fighting in woods, scattered, organizing on a daily basis and using any means possible to survive and fight, helped and hidden by the civilians, in the first years of the upsurge they could hardly be called an "army".

    Really, the only thing that defined the roles of those involved in WW2 was its end, that found the allied forces as winners.

    The US joined in 1942, after the Japaneese attacked Pearl Harbor, untill then the US government was unwilling to join, because the whole point of having somebody like Hitler in Germany was to stop the "red wave" from spreading, and fighting germany would've meant an alliance with Russia.

    But in the end "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" rule won over, so the US got involved.

    And then the Cold War startedb:chuckle

    But this is just my opinion. I find the whole deification of the Yugoslavian Partizans and Demonization of Hitler pointless, it distorts the facts. Besides, we would all be singing a different song if Hitler had won, after all, history is written by the winners :P

    Your dates are off. The US declared war on Japan on December 8th 1941. Germany and Italy then declared war on the US on December 11th 1941. As for the US's stance on WW2 before Pearl Harbor.

    They did not want to get involved as you stated but not because Hilter would stop Communism from spreading. America had a non interventionism policy, which meant avoiding alliances with foriegn countries to avoid being drawn into wars. Most countries tried to avoid being in the war. As for he Alliance with Russia. That was not on the table untill June 22nd 1941 when Hitler Broke Germany and Russia's Non Agression pact. By invading Russia.

    Hitler in fact did not want war with the US either. He had hoped the US would remain Neutral or even hoped that some sort of "Alliance" was possible due to America's Large German population at the time. If that was not possible he had hoped that his conquest of Europe was over by the time the US would intervene.

    Sadly i had spend hours doing a lot of research into WW2 on my own because school was a let down.

    And their explatnation of WW2 was

    1 Germany invades stuff.
    2 England declares war.
    3 Japan attacks Pearl Harbor
    4 us enters war.
    5 allies defeat germany
    6 Us drops atomic bombs war is over

    American Schooling at its finest.

    I happen to have books to :P.I even just got a stack of magazines from a neighbor that is slapped full of WW2 stories told by the soldiers.I am excited to dive into those. In all honesty tho, I highly doubt any of that would have been brought up if not for a bad onion bringing up his support of terrorism and what not.

    millions of people have died in those places, mostly gassed. If not gassed, you'd be doing labour. But due to bad conditions, people could still die from disease or by being underfed.
