I never really cared for tiers either. You either beat the pokemon or not. I have beaten legendary teams with non-legendary teams. Perhaps they were bad, who knows.
I used some considered "uber" and many others would never use. My philosophy is use what you like. Except legends, only newbs use legends.
I once soloed someones 6 man team with Bronzong. Dumbest nub moveset too. Hypnosis, Calm Mind, Flash Cannon, Shadow Ball. Holding leftovers and with Levitate.
I prefer wall types with tricks up their sleeve. I love my SlowBro with defense nature IV trained in Defense and Sp. Defense. with Calm Mind, Surf, Ice Beam, and slack off. Or Cradily with Stockpile, Ancient Power, Energy Ball, Recover. Umbreon was one of my first favorite walls my friend would cry everytime someone used Ice Beam on it because I would literally gain HP lol. Toxic, Wish, Faint Attack, Curse. The list goes on no one I knew could ever beat more than 2-3 of my team XDPush me,

@Voltaire I had plenty of fun with Chlorophyll + Solarbeam with another poke setting up Sunny Day for Bellossom. (Statted for Speed and SpAtk.) Fast Instabeams surprise the hell outta people b:laugh
Then 2 weeks later some **** stole it and put it on smogon, and it was instantly nullified for its surprise factor. b:cryI've quit excluding TW for my faction. But I still hang around to help out those who still enjoy the game under PWEs horrific handling and to have fun in the forums. b:cute
#Shame about PWEs absolutely craptastic handling of the goons glitching. Remember kids, there's no punishment for breaking the rules here!#

I don't mind tiers that much tbh. Most of my faves are umderused anyway and would get roflstomped often by most overused teams with some thought into their composition. b:surrender And luck based teams are pretty ineffective from my experience.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

dafaq?....guess I wont try playing in competitions then, I'll just fight friends and non-**** rule filled tourneys :P
xD INSTABEAM, Its why I hate sunny days around grass, downside is I use sunny day for umbreon and Espeon. But why nullify it, shouldn't that be common sense that grass types & sunny day almost always go hand in hand, so be wary of sunny days, Its like an Ice type putting up Hail, you expect a blizzard to follow

Nah I find tiers fully legit somthing like deoxys base stats are just so much higher than normal pokemon its just unfair to put them together and somthing like wobbuffet with a little prediction can take any pokemon 1v1. The tiers keep the fighting fair and in the main battle type OU you can use any other tier pokemon its pretty much a free for all barring the OP ones, and the only reason OU pokemon cant go down to the lower tiers is to keep those nabbish pokemon competitive otherwise you would 99% of the time have to use OU pokemon to be competitive.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I tried Mismagius with mean look, taunt, pain split, and perish song once for teh lulz and it's a pretty good counter for walls. Should probably swap taunt for substitute though, not sure. Haven't played in so long that I lost my ds. x.x[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

...I checked out Smogon...then I kinda just /facepalm reading the rule list/ and part of the teir lists...please tell me these are like (possibly idiotic) fan rules...especially the tier list, cause that honestly looks like pokemon that people haven't found a set play-style/ shared a playstyle so its not sent to to a higher tier.
Edit, Or found something that can be abused better and moved it down a teir. (Read about my friends fav Galade and saw it got thrown down 2 teirs)I A lot of people0 -

I havnt checked it or played in a while but uh when I played the rules made it good I thought. o.o no carefully planned out battles ruined by a lucky OHKO no frustrating double team spamming and pretty much any OU pokemon was viable cause the tiers made it even. You could always use UU but it takes some more planning like I always have my trusty umbreon and if I remember correctly it was UU or even NU. Trust me without those rules and tiers (which are made from hardout testing) battle sims would be far more repetitive and unbalanced.
sidenote: I never played the lower tiers cause the times I would play always seemed like nobody was playing it would take 10 min to find a match.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Oh it's fanmade certainly. I don't know what the official rules are in the competitions, but I suspect they're similar to the battle tower in gen IV/V (Which I gold plated on Platinum after much work) : No duplicate items, no duplicate pokemon, a very few pokemon are barred for simply being way too powerful (Rayquaza, Mewtwo and the like I think.)I've quit excluding TW for my faction. But I still hang around to help out those who still enjoy the game under PWEs horrific handling and to have fun in the forums. b:cute

Yeah.... Cept as is, everything is static anyway. People go with the best -almost always-. Because it's turn based playing vs other people takes nothing except picking the right option. OHKO moves won't hit very often, and if your opponent relies on them too much, don't fight them, or laugh when they get 10 misses in a row. -as is- you're as likely to get oneshot by anything anyway because everything depends on one single power attack.

Omg most frustrating thing i've ever done but I got 100 wins in a row on the diamond battle tower lol... you get past 50 and the AI cheats seriously >_> one time a ****ing porygon z was pretty much dead and I had my full team then it somehow froze all my pokemon and killed 1 by 1 with tribeam... didnt play pokemon for like weeks after that.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

@ Paul, I agree the ohko moves are annoying but unless you're fighting a certain articuno, its very likely that the ohko move will miss., and (usually) unless you have a tank out it's one or two hits till said pokemon dies, which is about as likely as an ohko move will hit.
And while I do agree evasion bosters and acuracy reducers are a bxtch (I had trouble on a gym leader that did that), and while it is an annoyingly simple tactic it's EASILY counter-able and has a multitude of uses, just keep never-miss moves or a keen eye pokemon.
also Leafeon is as close to a phys sweeper as the Eevee-family gets.....or have a shiny flareon, call it Eevee, have most of Eevee's moves and fire fang.....(WTB more Eeveelutions)
