Zombie is an independent studio, but their cash shop will most likely be managed by PW since its published by them. Depending on how badly PW wants to make money from operating the game. Runic is owned by PW. Torchlight 2 a single player game with multiplayer attached to it. Probably wont expect anyone to pay more than once for the game since its not an MMO.

Torchlight is different, its no mmo it have no item shop its not pay to win its single player and its fun, even devs who was involved into making diablo I have contributed to this title. Torchlight II will probably a very pretty sweet game , also again stand alone no mmo no item shop no pay to win. PWE is just the Publisher but you can get it from other sources too like steam or amazon. Dont punish a nice game developer for having a not so nice publisher.

Torchlight catched up the feel of good old Diablo pretty well and even with diablo III knocking on the door i can recommend Torchlight II wich is kinda cheap also.

As for mmo Titles i fully agree with you. Someone mentioned later in the Thread PWE is not so bad , see Blacklight Retribution that gets good critics ect.

Well PWI was also getting very good Ratings when it came out and it was a while really good without op stuff in CS. The problem came after 1 Year with the Pack relase and the complete turnover into a pay to win game. This will happen probably with all other titles too because that seem the most profitable way to squeeze most monney out of a game before it have to die.

In a Year or so you maybe have to put monney into Blacklight retribution or you just a grunt cannon food toy for the cash shoppers. Neverwinter will have for a while no op stuff in the Shop but as the game progress and the levels grow they will most likely make you happy with pay to win like they did in pwi. They did this in Jade Dynasty and Frosaken World too, they will not stop on Neverwinter. I had this allready, i dont need to expirience it again. And if people disagree to play hillarious ammounts of cash for op gear they just shut the game down.
That's why I will never play "F2P" game again. Because it's just scam to players. Much rather I will pay 12$ every month but have good customers service and not "pay to win" players.

And maybe you are right with torchlight. I don't know that game.

$20 for something from PWE? No thanks. I will spend the extra $40 and buy Diablo 3, which I already did.

    This.

When PW dies I'm done with all pwe games.

Very few games have actually addressed this issue. There is only one next gen mmo that claims to have class and gear balance. All MMOs have this gear disparity problem. In F2P games, its the players who either spent the most time playing or spent the most money.
In p2p games, its the players who spent the most time playing. Either way, pvp gameplay just doesnt feel enjoyable under those circumstances.

I'm going back to fps games after I'm done with PW. Rpgs are all the same. Whoever plays the longest or spends the most is the best, there's no skill involved and to suggest otherwise is ignorant.

meh, when Wuild Gars releases, I'm done with this game. First thing I'll do is spend all my in game coin on upping my gear on my sin as far as the coin can take me and just rpk if i ever decide to log on.

After playing around in this weekend's BWE for a day and a half (taking a break at the moment) I'm now looking around on their forums for a guild to join after Wuild Gars 2's release. The graphics are stunning, the music is enjoyable to listen to, the PvE is awesome with their dynamic group events, the PvP is truly enjoyable (still needs some tweaking, but thats the whole reason for the beta), and the personal storyline quests are interesting to go through. Also, the world map is HUGE. I'll most likely put up some videos on my youtube channel after the weekend is over.
