What is your main weapon?

As the title says, you can state your reasons why if you please.

I'll start here.

My main weapon on a BM is a sword, from day 1, my BM's main weapon was swords, I also had fists as backup. Seeing how the performance of the sword's DPS and skill set is pretty much a handy mix here while it is a really good weapon to support with and handling with those enemies, especially for those hard hitters (casters too) which really helps with for tight spots. Most likely that's dual swords I am using for my BM.
WTB PWI 2008 where people were thinking more about doing good rather than pretending to be.

    12% axe
    2% pole
    1% sword

    Axes do better DPH. Axes have better AOE's (HF?).

    Pole has some good AOE's, and can get you 20 meters of range if you get Demon Farstrike and a +2m pole.

    Fists are massive DPS tools if you have the APS for it. Plus, for a BM, you get good skills to use with them, including a good AOE and a channel interrupt skill.

    Swords however... Well, it does AOE, it does Ranged, it does DPS. But it doesn't do any of them WELL. Pole and sword have knockbacks, but really, what's the point? You're a melee class, not a ranged class, even if you have a good pole you only have 2 ranged attacks, plus one for swords.

    I have one of each. In fact, I have TT90G axes, sword, and fists. Zerk is REALLY nice if you can counter it with BP.

    But, really, unless you have -int on your chest and boots, -int wrists, tome, and cape with -int, swords are dwarfed by the DPS of Fists and dwarfed by the AOE's of axes.

    Delta = hammer for most part, sword for pushing mobs in aoe, fists for bosses

    FCC = axes for mobs, fists for bosses

    Nirvana = axes for hf, fists for boss

    Cube = axes

    TT = fists

    BH = fist for boss, axes to aoe

    I made g15 axes, now making g15 axes.

    i think pole is the best melee counter to aps players with leap back use your ranged pole skill get tons of str stats and make the noob bm fallow you with there silly fist.

    i cant think of better way to make farming bm look bad then use ur leap for soem reason then with a pole slash.

    i am so gona try get myself a r8 pole and wtf +10 it

    Thats my first instinct too.

    But, having run across many "Sword is my main weapon" and "Pole Only!" BMs, yea. There is a good chance its not.

    I just look at their TT99/Nirvana swords or poles, and thier +3-+5 refined gear, watch them die on stuff thats laughable to someone with fists/axes with the same refines, and wonder why they didnt spend the money on good fists, axes, or better refines so they can live through more.

    One of the two "Sword is my main!" BMs on HT - doesn't use his swords when he has to do something serious. The other one - get this - typically uses them to gain chi. And then 3 sparks "to do good DD".

    I was an Axe-Only BM back in the day. I *think* know a good thing when I see it, and I know what something bad looks like, when I see it.

    Unfortunately, there really is no "Main" weapon that people keep looking for. You use the right weapon and the right skills for the right situation.

    Like many others, Fist/Axe are enough for most situations.

    -I use a Monarch Spear for fighting ranged mobs like Harpies in Frost or Meteor Rush in RB (or purge)
    -Sword for MSS when you know things are about to get really messy in TT/RB.
    (I never understood the whole "pure x weapon BM" mentality...)

    R9 Axes - 92.5%

    Purge Spear - 5%

    G15/TT100 Fists - 2.5%

    Sword - 0%

    In 1v1:

    R9 Axes - 85%

    Purge Spear - 5%

    G15/TT100 Fists - 10%

    Sword - 0%

    In PvE:

    R9 Axes - 20%

    Purge Spear - 5%

    G15/TT100 Fists - 75%

    Pure PvE BM here. As much as I like my claws, they make me feel clumsy. Anything that goes beyond 1 mob is just a wtfbbq with claws on. Axes are my friend <3
