Map Quests

So, since the expansion we now have a daily quest to search for treasure all over perfect world map, its come to my attention that more and more people are killing the boss before the map owner can, is there any way this can be fixed to where the map holder can only retrieve the items? or a way to prevent the hard work of one being taken by another without permission? Curious what others think as well! b:cute

I've had 0 problems with others opening my chests/killing my map bosses. In fact, I rarely see anyone else at the map location. Don't AFK fly to the exact map location if you think someone might be there?

well in the few instances ive heard of the same sin had found and followed people to it killed it after being asked to leave it then taking the drops & stealthing right away

^+1,I almost never see people and when i see people they are normally farm their own chest and fight their boss, so i just wait the person is done and gone and do mine but its really rare i see people on the location of my chest.

More often my chest is stuck in a stupid mountain anyway so none include me can farm it.

I've had a 4th map boss KSed from me in the middle of absolute nowhere (the desert a bit north of the earthguard area). It just so happened to drop 2x 5th map as well b:sweat

I liked the idea behind this daily, but I never bothered doing it again after that.

This actually happens? I have yet to see it or have it happen to anyone I know.
I've yet to see anyone loitering/camping in a chest location either.

I feel sad for the people who are doing it tho.......cause who really has the time to camp a location where someone may or may not come along with a boss spawn, especially given the different possible locations for a map5 spawn and the slim chances someones going to get one at any given time.

Not much you can do about scum like that, except name and shame on WC, or PK during the fight if white/red named.

Well that can happen that happen to me one time on all the time i done it but since im in PvP server i pked the guy (than he said he will report me for pk.. LOL?) but was the only time.

The only thing to do is if u see people around your location just wait they are done to do yours, but like you say if someone have 8 hours to camps one spot i feel sorry for them.

@RoseWater_ : If its happen the same person pick your map drops many time just SS and report him, i dunno if some action can be take against the person but its the only thing you can do.

"Kill stealing" is not illegal in our game. Remember that monsters do not actually belong to any player, and that the player/squad that does the most damage will gain the majority of the EXP as well as the loot that the mob drops.

I usually never see anyone around when i do my bosses. Sometimes i even like to PK when i fly places and its usually dead.

Ye but she's speaking about the same sin always doing it.

So here the rest of the ''rule'':

''The only time that a GM will intervene is if one player begins following another player from zone to zone, attacking the same mobs/harassing them in general for an extended period of time. At this point it would be considered player harassment.''

But some ''rules'' was created since a long time, that was prolly for the world boss and stuff like that, cause people was prolly QQing in ticket and forum that a other facton ''stole'' the boss and drops, same with outside culti boss, which are boss already on the map all the time for everyone, but treasure chest quest the player actually pay for that 88k (ok for some ppl dont look much but for some player 88k is a lot).

I dont think atm its a major problem, i personnally just be stole one time and i had the satisfation to kill a R9 cleric with my veno lvl 92 with a nix lvl 80. b:victory

i did mine yesterday the 1st worn map and i couldnt kill the monster and after like 20 mins or so it just disappeared and the worn treasure map #2 fell so i got that ;/ im lvl 61 what lvl do i needa b to open it? does it go up 5 every time? 60/65/70 etc? thx

60/70/80/90/100 for the 5 levels of treasure map.

I happened across an abandoned map 4 boss this morning. It took me a few minutes to find the sweet spot for my map 1 in the area, which should have given the previous map owner time to get back with reinforcements... but they didn't so I killed it and got an item drop.

It's also note worthy that someone killing the mob YOU spawned through a quest constitutes that player preventing you from completing the quest which GM's in the past have said falls into harassment and is bannable.

But I must say with all the possible places for the things to go (and the low possiblity of maps dropping) People camping the locations hoping to steal and hoping to get a drop is well sad. They must spend hours there with nothing to do.

Well, I think the OP was talking about a stealthed sin following someone from Sharp Spear. The solution would be, pick up map 1, go do something else, then go to your map destination. Or, pick up map 1, teleport, go to your map location, since you can't be followed through a teleport.

Yeah that's even more pointless lol, following a person from map 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 hoping that they get a drop or that they don't teleport

But anyways if someone actually did either camp or follow they are sad pathetic little people.

When I do my dailies I grab the quest then jump into morai and do those and I tele as close to the map locations as I can so only a camper would be a threat to me, luckly I can kill the things pretty quick (well except for the map 5's but I get faction help with those, good luck stealing from a squad of r9s)

If you cant do alone just ask in your faction or friends help, you can do in squad but just be sure to set the squad in free mode since some drops are untradable. b:victory

WOW... this is actually a brilliant idea... I am ashamed that I never thought of it. Anyways... I highly doubt anyone would actually follow someone or even camp a given location. Most likely it is a opportunity of chance. The OP just happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time with the right chest.
