Lvl 101+ Pet Skills

Disclaimer <This idea just kinda started floating around in my head as I fell asleep, so its by no means fully formed or even viable>
Now, that being said, I've been looking at the ridiculous amount of exp needed to get a pet above lvl 100. Now, I admit I haven't yet leveled a pet over 100, but it seems to me its a lot of work for small returns. Hence this idea: Have a set of lvl 101 skills that can become available that are basically more powerful versions of the level 5 skills currently available (lvl6 if you have a base). They could be leveled up again at 102, 103, etc. I feel these would be a viable way to more heavily involve our at endgame when they start falling by the wayside a bit, and give some sort of strong motivation to continue leveling them.
Any feedback on why this would or wouldn't work, possible ways to implement, possible cost, etc would be appreciated b:cute

I dont know if that was possible but i have a simpler and more doable idea.
Increase Pet exp gain after certain levels.
the normal exp gain against higher lvl mobs at full loyalty is 15.
After lvl 80 it could jump to 20 , at 90+ to 30 and at lvl 100 too 45. That would speed things a bit.
or introduce Pet exp stones (it already exists in another PWE game)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

For just the lvling, I think this is a good idea. The characters lvl so freaking fast now that it's hard to keep pets on track (especially for someone like me who has several b:laugh). With just bh as exp gain pets already fall behind fast. Maybe a curve like that would make it a bit faster without falling in excessive proportions.
The original idea isn't bad. But a motivation to lvl doesn't make it less annoying to lvl a pet (yes, I think taking the special time to lvl a pet is annoying as it gets 30 exp while my veno gets 3 lvls), However, I think an extra lvl off the legendary skills would be a bit too much. Maybe an extra lvl of bash-type skills only would be better. With all the way more powerfull gear around, this might give pets their aggro function back a bit...0 -
I'm not really suggesting a faster way to level, I think the current system is fine, I just think there should be some sort of goal to reward the veno's who are persistent and patient enough to actually take the time to level their pets up that high. We don't need shortcuts in pet leveling. Actually leveling a pet takes time and effort, and is much more rewarding than if we started powerleveling pets like people do their toons. The base pet buff skill scrolls are for pets level 80+, which is something.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I think I know exactly what you mean, but to add to it I think pets should go through demon/sage cultivations as well xD:

Fire Ball(fire elemental bash) can become (sage)FireStorm:Fire dmg pet centered AoE or (Demon)MeteorStorm: Fire Dmg mob ((?meters around mob)) AoE.
I say that'll take pets to all new dimensions and spice up the game for venos >:D

Increases pet exp per mob would have been perfect. The exp needed after lvl100 is ridiculous. Although I leveled herc to 101 already and I'm half way through with my kowlin. Copy blizzard and just make pets match your level. IE: You have a Tabby Plumdrop, level 43, and you just hit 101. You hatch it, and voila, it instantly gains levels until it's 101. Just do away with pet EXP completely, it's lame and one of the reasons I quit my veno so long ago.101 Sage Sin*/Archer

The problem is that we WERE the only class that could call pets to fight for us and the devs had to give us a downside. But now that we are not the only ones anymore, nixes are a non factor in PvP and no one lets an herc tank we dont need any downsides please...b:surrender0

I wouldn't say "no one", my herc tanked 2/4 tabbed bosses on my FB SoT last night (cleric was having blackout/DC problems.) The last 2 plus Suicidal Mass were tanked by a barb.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I think we're drifting from my original point here.
Having to put time and effort into our pets is what sets us apart from other classes, therefore we should be able to access a more powerful skill set for our pets if we take the time to level them.Proud forum lurker since 2008 b:avoid0 -

There's two areas I found great of farming high level pet exp. Cube Room 4 and the Old Unicorn Forest mobs. The Old Unicorn Forest hit hard, but the pets can kill them quick. Plus, it's a good place to level flying and water pets.Getting back onto PWI again. Should be fun XD
