Bug: Odd Frames In Inventory

Don't know if this is a "recent" issue but I haven't had this problem until early last month; there are odd frames that seemed to appear at random with certain items in my inventory. I've had time to ask around and they seem to be consistent with timed items like the things you get from the elder chests, mailbox quests, and the blessings.

I've tried contacting support but the person responding to me has insisted it must be something wrong with my computer and has told me told me to put verifying the files on loop. This is after I've already explained the bug in as much detail as I possibly could at the time with multiple screenshots and informed them of the state of my computer (nothing is breaking down or bogged down with malware others besides myself have confirmed this) and had verified the files with no errors being detected. Since then I've re-installed the game and have asked around so I know it's not just me. Now why they would insist it is despite all that is beyond me.

Not something I've ever seen before but here's what I would do.

    1. Check your video drivers.
    2. Double-check that you have all the DirectX runtimes installed. (just run the web installer and it will do this for you.)
    3. Verify files feature pretty much sucks. Sometimes you have to run it 3-5 times for it to discover and fix problems.
    4. Anti-virus software is known to commonly interfere with the client. Make sure the client directory is in your exceptions lists and temporarily disable the active scan feature before you update/verify.
    5. Run a check on your hard drive for errors.
    6. Defrag your hard drive.

If the problem still persisted after that, I would check other running processes, video encoders, and make sure all video settings for the video card are at factory default. (The game does not work well with customized settings.)

After all of that is said and done, if I still had the issue, then I would submit a ticket, detailing everything I have done in as much detail as possible. By the third ticket I'm usually yelling at them about what freaking morons they are that they can't bother to read what I put in my tickets.

    Yep, done done and done.

I'd be a little doubtful of it being a bug too if I hadn't had it happen to me as obscure as it seems to be, but seeing as everything with my computer is in check plus having ample time to ask others to know it's not just me (as in something weird gong on with my account) it is definitely a graphical bug/nothing I can do anything about since it's not caused by anything on my end. Just one more thing that went break that needs to be put back in order. Again never had this issue until last month and while it may seem like no big deal (other than being extremely annoying to look at as it shouldn't be doing this) little foxes spoil the vine. In other words this is probably symptomatic of a much bigger issue. Even if it isn't it's still something that is broken. While the contents may be fine still, no one likes buying dented cans of food.

I know how you feel. I always trouble shoot before submitting a ticket (the one concerning this post being no exception) and it is quite irritating when you get canned answer or replies that couldn't make it any more obvious they didn't read your message. Just keep it concise as possible and save yourself some time and headache... at least a smaller one. I try avoid raging at them though. Maybe they are like many customer support reps and just get plotted at a desk with a script and nothing more. That doesn't say much for the company's opinion of its customers but you know what I mean.

Glitch only shows up in Widescreen mode. Uncheck widescreen and play in fullscreen only to fix the problem. Besides that i don't know what to tell you.

    You're a sweetheart.
Yes that does seem to be helping today. Before changing the display yielded no results, but couldn't hurt to try again since it worked for you.

Just to be clear for anyone else having this issue previously no matter what I did to the graphics settings, changing display from fullscreen to windowed to widescreen or mess around with the other display settings, it didn't get rid of those annoying frames.

DoggyStylin is correct their work around can help a lot, but it does not get rid of the frames just keeps them neatly over the items they are associated with which is a lot better and ignorable compared to them floating way above them over lapping other things which is what they were doing before regardless of how I altered the display settings.

*Note: I removed the widescreen setting before logging in this time (I usually change graphical settings in game).

Yeah, those look like the new frames for timed items. If it is just a glitch, you might try using the auto-sort button to rearrange them, and see if that fixes it. I've never seen this glitch before, so other than that, all I can say is good luck. :/
