Strange Old Man quest

I feel a little silly asking, but how do I get to him? I know he's on the platform on top of the giant stone head, and I've been assuming that you have to get on the ramp to go up there by first jumping on the little stone pillar near the Void person there... but it seems that that stone pillar is not quite high enough, and I also seem to be the only person trying it.

I think I'm missing something here.

I don't see any other way up, but I'm having a little trouble adjusting to how the camera works (this is my first 3D MMO), so if it's really obvious... please take pity on a newb. ^^:

    ...I ended up flying. Still, since I don't think the game /usually/ intends people to fly before level 30, it would probably be good for this to be known.

    Unless I totally missed something and you really do have to fly. Instead of "climb" as it instructs you to. :P

    It is doable by jumping, as I remember doing it on a my GFs mystic. IIRC, you have to take a sort of roundabout way of getting up (I can't say exactly the path, I'd have to go do it to see), but it IS possible.
