Question about barb dmg

I am playing with a veno now but i also have a barb lvl64.
I was thinking to play again with barb,but i read in forum that barbs arent needed in PVE that much.
What does that mean?
I wanna play it again because it is fun to play with barb,exept the repair costs they are not that fun :P .
And everyone talking about low dmg barbs make,in my experience i dont need much to kill mobs.
How is it later at 80+ is the dmg realy low or what?

    People are avoiding this thread because it opens up the "dd vs vit" discussion, again.

    Mobs in the BHs for lvl 100s have hundreds of thousand of hp. If a barb hits for 15k dmg at a rate of 1.25 aps the mob will be regeneratealmost as fast as he's killing, lol. It will take him a long time to knock off 300k hp. That's what squads and DDs are for. Or aps. Or strength builds.

    If barb is trying to kill someone in pk as a vit build it may be impossible because of accuracy and dph, so that the barb can never do more than 100% dmg in 10 seconds after a charm tick to kill a reasonably gear character. Again, that's what squads, strength build, aps, or zerk axes are for.

    So my answer is, it kind of depends on how you build your barb. Put nothing towards dd and you will have **** for dd. Enough to kill map mobs, but killing instance mobs will take a while. Put everything towards dd and nothing towards survivability, you can have huge spike damage but may have trouble surviving while tanking. Most of us never have a problem or just restat our builds if we feel to weak in one aspect since its not an overall problem with the class, just how people focussed their builds.

    i'd like to know if im doing good dmg for my level
    im lvl 52 and got a hammer mold from my fb51 like..400-700dmg hammers or something
    and i do around 1300-1500 dmg per hit is that good?
    + imo man dont listen to the *******s saying make bms and seekers
    barbs are fun :) im making my barb for my faction to help them with fbs ^^
    + who doesnt love white tigers <3
