Which class for newbies?

Hey all,

So I haven't played PWI in probably a year now? And I know I've forgotten many things, and am new to all the new updates. So I want to start in a different world, fresh start so I can relearn the concept of the game. Therefore I would like some opinion on which class to start as a "newbie" to PWI (again).

If you are willing to suggest a class for me to play, I'd like to be more detailed on my part:

The classes that I have played includes: blademaster, barbarian, cleric, archer, venomancer, and wizard.

I'd like to make:
- a class that is cheap, and can make money (and save/invest it)
- a class that will be easily invited to dungeons (preferably dps, but I DO know how to tank and heal)

I don't know if much has changed, in terms of funding, repairs, etc.
(and this will be in a PvE server)

Eh, your two goals oppose each other, really. Veno's still the cheap class, but not really wanted in squads that much, except for fast nirvana squads (and then mostly for amp/purge.)

For getting invited to dungeons, endgame it's BM or assassin, midgame cleric or barb. For Frost or delta, seeker has an in. None of those are really cheap though.

If you remember what class you enjoyed before, give that a go.

i enjoyed playing a veno before, and stopped around mid 60's because i wasn't anymore.

i LOVE wizards, but they get expensive too early.

i also enjoyed playing a cleric, but it got really, really expensive once i got into mid 70's.

i hate playing any class that has to tank. because of the repairs.

what about the tideborn? and the earth ppl? are they any good? fun?

Stinky Fish People:

Psychics are similar to a wiz, but faster casting.

Assassins are incredibly squishy early on, but get tougher later. After 90, often can end up tanking just due to the amount of aggro they generate. Great DD power, especially late-end game, but not the greatest survivability till late game (and even then, not without good gear)

Mole Men(and women):

Seekers are AoE machines. Basically, this is a "magic swordsman," able to wield only swords. They are sorta a caster class despite being melee DDs. You may end up tanking some mid game (I have seekers as tanks for my cleric's BH regularly, when kitties arent available), and even some end game (mostly in FC), but generally aren't going to be a primary tank (IME, anyway). Has a continuous AoE similar to a wiz DB/archer BoA, which is MP hungry, but not too bad otherwise (average cost, i'd say)

Mystics are summoners <.< pets are a skill rather than a tamed mob like a Veno, and mystics also possess good heals (not quite cleric level, but second best without a doubt.) Very, VERY MP hungry, so sorta expensive in the pot department.

If you really love your wiz, the psy would probably be fun for you. Not the best grinder/coin maker, but not terribly expensive in general and way fun to play.


Cheapest to play as a veno
Most wanted classes midgame are going to be cleric, barb, anyone who can tank (ie seeker/BM)
Endgame, it's Cleric, BM, well-geared sin (ie. not cheap), sometimes seeker (RB/Frost, mostly)
