My first signature

Now, I am not so good at the whole signature making thing or even taking screenshots for that matter, just messed about on gimp 2.6 and made a sig.

What do you all think? ^^

    It's just my opinion, but I think it could look better with a more interesting background (but not too busy) instead of a gradient, and the text could use some layer effects. The Miakai x NeroTrace is a bit too close to the top of the sig for my liking, but overall good, uncluttered design :)

    Yea, I know the background is not the best, I am going to start making a new signature asap, it was just my first to mess about with layers and editing, hence why I didn't try too..... fancy stuff (dynamic background + layered font etc).

    as a suggestion, what I like to do with text is pick a color that is either somewhere in the picture or is a bright contrast to the background. With the gradient, even using an off-white like in the toon's hair would help the text fit in a little better. It draws to much attention. As for backgrounds, well I hate working with backgrounds in GIMP and often times draw it myself...I do like the background colors though. Also, adding a border does wonders.
