Flickering Interface

I've tried with tech support forum but that's gotten me no where so....

So I've been having problems since the Morai expansion where the interface keeps flickering in and out. It's gotten so bad that my assassin stood there getting charmed for like 15 minutes on shocktrooper when I was soloing him, because everytime I wasn't bubbled I did not have a UI and my skills didn't work. Today I logged on and all of my characters are running around naked like the water glitch, except I can see part my gloves and PART of my weapon. In addition, all of the NPCs where black outlines. My cleric could cast her skills, but then her face disappeared. I'm in the process of verifying now (6 hours now b:angry), but any other ideas about what this could be? I have no problems running other games/videos/etc.

Make sure your graphics driver is up to date and download the Direct X update for 9.0c. Also, post a more detailed list of your PC's specs. Unfortunately that website you gave is extremely generic and tells what "could" be in your PC.

I'm no tech at all but I'd do a vague guess and point at your graphics card. Maybe it's getting too hot or you should update the drivers ._. But that's a guess.

I tried updating the drivers last night, but my character ended up naked. :P


Um my graphics are either the:

Intel HD 3000

NVIDIA GeForce GT 550M

8 gigabytes of RAM, 5 of which are still available. 15.8G of virtual memory, 11.4G which is still available...

Processor is

Inter Core i7-2720QM @ 2.20GHz, 2201 MHz, 4 cores, 8 logical processors

Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 Home

Decent specs, and you shouldn't be having these issues. Okay, have you tried updating your DirectX9.0c? In the recent one hour expansion, they updated DX but left out critical installation files for people that don't have the update on their PC. This often causes flickering and issues with not being able to see anything, including other players and yourself.

I downloaded it from here. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35 Don't know if thats the correct place, but it seemed right. I've been able to see other people, just my character is naked. And the NPCs are black. :P Should I reinstall it or something?

I'd say you should attempt a re-install of your graphics card drivers. If that doesn't resolve your issue, I'm actually not sure.

Okay, how would I do that? I usually just look at windows updates and tell it to do it's magic. XD

You can get the update from this website. Run the auto-scan for best results. Make sure it states the install is for your computer. Sometimes the auto-scan can get glitchy and state it thinks your computer has a different OS or somethin'. If it says your up to date, you'll have to look around a bit for the manual download of the latest driver for your 555M laptop graphics card. Shouldn't be too hard. The re-install will wipe your current driver software (for a few mins during the install your PC will look weird), then re-install them all automatically. Hopefully this will solve your problems.

Well this is what it looks like now that i re downloaded 9.0c and verify finalllllly finished. :P Not much better, arguably worse actually.

Yeah, definitely doesn't look normal. No problem, either. Please do post your results, I'm interested to see if that finally corrects the issue.

Oi. I've been getting that as well. Mostly only occurs when I'm on an EG char or have more than one client up though.

I've have that happen to me a few times only when I'm doing the Morai quests because of the cluster of people around the NPC.

But it doesn't go as bad as you describe yours though. As long as there aren't a cluster of people around me/on screen, it doesn't happen.
