R8 Recast = Restat Str?

Am I reading this correctly? I was playing with pwicalc debating going for R8 recast and it seems as if with each piece of armor I recast I can restat 12 str into mag.

Original R8 vs Recast R8

If true, wow! b:dirty

    sure you can get nice stats on all r8 recast items, just like you can get a ton of +25% durability and other **** stats... :)

    so you better get lucky with stats your recast gets or be filthy rich to reroll stats 20000 times 'till you get something nice :)

    You get recasted only 3 stats not 4 and they are random.
    I have recasted top.
    And got 8 str and 2+1% physical damage reduced.

    Also I have recasted paints. And got 8 dex + 2x evasion.b:angry

    The stats pwcalc threw on those pieces are not the real stats you get.

    Ah. Rats. Oh well, this is why I asked the question in the first place. If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't. Thanks for the information.

    At this point I might just refine up the original R8 and call it a day.
